The journaling challenge this month over at Once Upon a Sketch is Numbers.
When I started brainstorming about what to do with this challenge, only 1 number came to mind...
"8"
It's been 8 years since I met the love of my life and, ever, since my world is so much more beautiful...
a bit like this layout, full of purples and teals with a tint of sunshine!
Here is the beautiful sketch that goes along with the OUAS challenge:
Not only is the number 8 significant this year since we've just recently celebrated our 8th year anniversary, but also, 8 represents to me the symbol for 'ETERNITY',
which is exactly how long i want to spend loving Yves.
To create my layout, i searched through my stash and picked out almost all of the chipboard 8's i could find, glued them on to my background and covered them in different paints and mists.
As much as i'm self-conscious about handwritten journaling on my layouts,
i decided to do just that as i find that it makes it all the more personal.
Adding lots of layers with paper, tags, flowers and brads.
The
picture used of Yves and I was developped using a yellowish tint which
i
thought went very well with the colors of the 7Dots Studio Illumination collection used.
I did some stenciling with molding paste on my background and
added some cheesecloth and several layers of different mediums.
And one last look...
Thank you Once Upon A Sketch for the inspiration!
Gorgeous! I love all the 8's on your back ground.. pretty colors too!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous page! Love the purple tones!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a FABULOUS way to use up those alphas that sit there idly in the stash! They look brill....& GO YOU, putting your journaling there for all to see - I think it really adds to the story & makes more sense of your photo - which is lovely, BTW!!! OK, enough of me rattling on - so happy to see you once again with us at OUAS:):)
ReplyDeleteGreat project! I love the colors, so sweet!!! Congrats!!!
