JUST ME Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - January Mood Board Challenge
+ 13arts Challenge #62 'Celebrate')

It's time for me to share with you my take on the gorgeous Dusty Attic January mood board!

Have you played along yet?  How could you resist such stunning inspiration?!

As you can see, I followed the same colour palette, using lots of gold
on my page mixed with some touch of brown and wine red.
I also was inspired by the celebratory feel of the board images!

I was also inspired by the 13arts Challenge #62.

With the start of a new year, I wanted to go back to the basics,
meaning, me... Just Me (as the title I chose indicates).
I'm hoping that this year I will be able to celebrate myself
and cherish the special person that I am, inside and out.

I find that both challenges go so well together so why use both to spark my creativity!

To frame one side of  my photo, I used one piece of the Vintage Frame #2
and I added the other piece on the right margin of my layout.
I painted this piece with metallic gold paint and dabbed on some
Gingernut Dusty in Colour and a bit of deep brown along the center.

I picked a few pieces from the Mini Words #2 and #3 that represented me
the most and combined them with 13arts word stickers.
The pretty background paper is also from 13arts, from the Vintage Moments line.

I colored brown with touches of Gingernut and gold all these chippies
including the Monarch Butterflies and a Name Plate #5
that I cut in two and slipped on top and below my photo.

Dusty Attic not only has beautiful chipboard to offer,
but also has produced very pretty flowers.
Below you can see the Bridal Veil set.

I hope that I have inspired you to celebrate yourself too!
Put you first... take the time to be the best you you can be.

SNOWFLAKE MIXED MEDIA BOX
(Daily ART DT + Mixed Media Warriors Challenge)

Hi! I'm back today to share with you another Winter-themed project,
this time featuring some of the fabulous Daily ART mediums!

which is this gorgeous Winter Wonderland mood board.

I had a lot of mixed media fun with the Hardboard Oval Jewelry Box.
This box is so easy to put together and can be so versatile.

I started by covering the whole box with a thick coat of White Gesso
and then I piled on some Fine Texture Paste followed by a bit of Snow Paste.
I added a tint of blue and silver with Ink Spray and Glitter and Stencil Paste.

I used the Texture Paste with some spray adhesive to hold up the large snowflake
on the box cover. The snowflakes were all cove with the same products as the box.
I sprinkled lots of Glass Beads and added some Silver 3-D Glitter Pen to create
an ice and snow textured effect on the lid.

I decided to decorate my box and the snowflakes with pearls and gems.

And here you go... one final look at my finished Snowflake Box,
perfect to put my favorite Winter candy treats!

WINTER WONDERLAND - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT)

I am back today to share with you my first Dusty Attic DT project of 2018 in homage to Winter!

In Canada where I live we are right in the midst of a brutal and very snowy
Winter season (roads have been icy and treacherous for a week since our last
major snow storm), but as much anguish that this season gives me, I have to say
that it does inspire me to create some very lovely and magical art.

I created this layout with many Winter-inspired chipboard pieces,
starting with the title Winter Wonderland and a Page Pebble #5.
All my chipboard were covered with snow white embossing powder
and then dabbed with a little Dusty in Colour Dusty Pink acrylic paint.

I added some sparkle on my page by cutting up and arranging some parts
of the Bling Flourish and adding a few individual Bling pieces.

I wanted to keep my pretty pink and white striped background as bare
as possible so I combined a few Mini Snowflake Disks to the embossed
stickers on the base and the few bling brads.

You can see here that I stitched a few snowflakes on my background
and I used a little Dusty Pink paint to colour the inside.

I added a few flair buttons, some plastic and metal snowflakes
as decorations and then some splashes of white on everything
to give my page more of a snowy feel. I love how it turned out!

Cold hands, warm heart... that describes how I feel right now,
waiting patiently for Springtime to arrive - hehe

MAGICAL SNOW DAY - Single Page Layout
(Daily ART DT + Words & Paintery
& Mixed Media & Art December Challenges)

I have to admit, being Canadian and having experienced my fair share of many long and cold Winters, Winter is not my favorite season by far! But I do love making Winter layouts!

I created this layout as my first January DT reveal for Daily ART.

I was inspired to play along with this incredible mood board and sketch challenge
from Mixed Media & Art. I absolutely love all the Winter-themed images in this board
and I took inspiration from the sketch as well as the title used on it.

My colour palette was also inspired by the December Words & Paintery challenge.

These are some of the Daily ART products used.
The complete list is available at the end of this post.

One of my very favorite Daily ART products is the stencil paste.
There are so many gorgeous colours to choose from.  For this layout, I used
the Pearl Blue shade to add some diamond pattern with a stencil.

I then misted a bit of Aubergine Glossy Ink Spray and Eucalyptus Vintage Ink Spray and then added water to give my background a watercolour effect. I dabbed some Mother of Pearl Stencil Paste and Biscay Bay Vintage Paint to add even more colors and a little shimmer.

I tucked a Hardboard Book Separator behind my picture as a tag
which I covered with a coat of White Gesso Paste followed by Mother of Pearl Paste.

I treated all the snowflakes as well as the title with the same mediums.
On the title and in the center of the large snowflake I dabbed a little Biscay Bay Vintage Paint.

I used a sponge to dab the Mother of Pearl Stencil Paste on my background,
making sure to leave a thick crackle texture with the sponge.
I sprinkled some 1mm Glass Beads - I love the frosty effect they add!

This picture was taken a few years back at a local wildlife reserve
where chickadees freely come eat out of your hands.
It is a truly magical place to go every Winter!

Whether you love Winter or not, I hope that you have found some joy
into looking at my Winter layout as much as I enjoyed creating it!

MAKE A WISH - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - January Main Challenge)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I wish you all a fabulous 2018 filled with endless inspiration and creativity!

Let's start off the year with a brand new DT reveal for More Than Words...

Here is the January Main Challenge over at More Than Words
from which my page was inspired.
Word Inspiration - BIRTHDAY
Creative Challenge - TAGS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

To me, the word BIRTHDAY spells fun, party, cake, family and friends. I created this page using photos of my boyfriend's 30th birthday, way back in 2007, that we celebrated with his parents and for which I made him a homemade cake, topped with a multitude of candles. I wonder if I was part of his wish as he blew them out!

The creative challenge was very easy for me as I tend to use TAGS on most of my layouts; I absolutely love them and I have an endless stash.

Let's take a look at some close-up shots...

I wanted my page to be very fun and colourful to showcase the birthday theme
so I opted for the Let's Party collection from Simple Stories.
The papers are so pretty and choc full of birthday designs to fussy cut!

The chipboard title as well as the other chipboard are all from Dusty Attic.
I covered the title piece with glittery black embossing powder.

I used the teal tag from my stash and created the red one myself,
tracing it out of patterned paper and added an eyelet.

I added a few drops of coloured mist and decorated
with sequins to add some more colour and sparkle.

I wanted to include as many photos as possible on the layout
so I made some mini prints and lined them to the right of the bigger photo.
That way I was able to document more of this birthday celebration
while still having lots of space to showcase the beautiful papers.

I can't wait to spend another year sharing with you my projects,
and I hope that I will be able to inspire you somehow and spark your creativity.

2018, here we come!
