More Me Time (Prima BAP & Berry71bleu)

The year 2012 has been a good and a bad year...  for many different reasons.  I've known quite a bit of stress these last few months, mostly because of work.  With the start of 2013 came the same stress that i am trying desperately to overcome.  There's a lot of pressure on me right now, but at the same time, the outcome of it all is a bit out of my hands.  What i CAN control though is how i deal with all these challenges... i need to focus on what's important, keep a positive outlook and, most especially, take time to relax and enjoy some more ME time.  'ME time' doesn't necessarily mean to spend time alone... 'ME time' is spent doing whatever makes feel happy and content and at peace, whether that be spending extra time in my scraproom or cuddling with Yves and Sugar on the couch and being silly.  In 2013, i will try my best to put more emphasis on those moments.

That is what i wanted to portray with this layout.

I was inspired by the January challenge at Berry71bleu that is to create a layout all about ME!
Not only did i get inspired by the theme of the challenge, but i loved the soft and elegant colors in the challenge poster too, so i used Prima's beautiful Rondelle collection to capture this same color palette.

I used Prima's January BAP sketch on which to base my design:

I really love how this layout turned out.  I used Embossing Paste for the first time and the Prima brick mask... and i distressed the paper with different color inks.

All the chipboard on this layout is from ScrapFX.  If you have never checked out ScrapFX chipboard before, i strongly suggest you do.  They offer so many different styles and shapes!  I am lucky to have a wide variety to choose from at my LSS.

Scrap FX is also hosting a DT Call right now, so if you are into chipboard as i am, why not click HERE and see how you can apply!

I used crackle paint on the black pieces of chipboard and some gesso on the 'Me' title.

I like the look of these stitches :)

A little hidden journaling!

I hope you liked looking at this layout.  Now, take my advice and make a little 'ME time' for yourself! :)

Prima products used:
Paper: Rondelle "Cottilion", "Gavotte", "Polonaise"
Embellishments: Shabby Chic Resin Old Church Window, Flocked Rub-ons, Wood Buttons Nature Garden; Pins; Alphabet Stickers; Crystal Centers; Brick Mask

Pocketful Of Sunshine (CS#245 DT Reveal)

Is it cold where you live?  Here, it has been a very bitter-y cold January and i am in desperate need of warm sunshine!  So i thought i'd make something sunny and bright in my scraproom!

This layout is based on fun and cheery Sketch #245 from Creative Scrappers, designed by Nicole Nowosad.
At first, when i saw this sketch, i was inspired to do a Winter layout with loads of snowflakes to try and stay away from the more obvious sunshine pattern behind the picture, but when i started sorting through my paper, photos and chipboard shapes, i couldn't resist...

So here is "Pocketful of Sunshine", using Pink Paislee's Indigo Bleu collection and ScrapFX laser-cut pocket.
I look at this layout and i can almost feel the warm rays of Summer on my face! :)

Hope i brought a little warmth in your heart with this reveal.

Fun Night (SIWAS DT Reveal)

It's hard to believe that 6 months have passed already since my first DT reveal for Scrap It with a Song!  This has been such a lovely team to be on.  Music is a huge inspiration to many people, so what an awesome idea to use songs to inspire our creativity every week.  I am looking forward to seeing the lovely creations from the new SIWAS DT and playing along with their challenges!

This week's playlist song, the last for January, is the very famous "Some Nights" by Fun.

I used this lovely sketch from the January challenge at C'est Magnifique Kits:

A few months ago, i was very lucky enough to win the July 2012 kit from C'est Magnifique Kits, so i thought it would be perfect to use with this sketch (with the addition of just a couple extra flowers and leaves, some chipboard letters and some bling) and a beautiful picture of me and some friends on a very special night in April of last year.  It was a traditional fundraising event called La Soirée des Roses, and we had loads of fun!
I'm the short one in the back row! :)

I really hope you will check out the Scrap It with a Song blog and play along with our challenge!  There's a cool prize to be won and a couple changes to be a guest designer for next month!

Also, visit C'est Magnifique Kits and see the amazing kits that they have to offer!

It's way past my bedtime so...  GOOD NIGHT!  Stay warm and keep your pets indoors!
(It's bitterly cold here in Canada...)

Sew Sweet (My Creative Sketches)

I must confess - i haven't been creating lately!  But i have a good excuse!  I am in the process of reorganizing my scraproom - and i mean REORGANIZING!  I moved furniture around, thrown a lot of stuff away, and am sorting through everything to make sure to put it in its rightful place.  I am hoping to be done in a couple days and to be able to start craftin' away again by the weekend.  I have to!  I have a few DT projects to finish!  I'll be sure to post pictures of my 'new' room in the near future!

In the meantime, i want to share with you again this layout i created for my GDT spot with My Creative Scrapbook this month.  This layout was created with the Limited Edition kit and was inspired the January sketch at My Creative Sketches.  Check out all the DT inspiration HERE and the fabulous prize you could win by playing along.  Like all prizes at My Creative Sketches, it's a BEAUTY!

Here is the sketch created by Kim Keane:

And you might remember my layout featuring the oh so sweet Sugar :)

Spectacular (CS#243 DT Reveal)

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far!  It's not over yet so make sure to squeeze in every little moment of freedom you can before Monday rolls around - hehehe

Take time to scrap today and get inspired by this week's new sketch from Creative Scrappers!  This one comes to us from Juliana Michaels and it's a cutie!  Sketch#243 is perfect for any type of layouts!
I thought i'd go a little crazy with the flags this time - hehe

If you remember, my last DT reveal for CS was all about Girl Power.  This time around, let's go a bit more masculine!

I created this double-page layout (the left side is based on the sketch) using more cute photos of my friend's little boy, Tristan, and some older BoBunny collection named Block Party.
Can you count the number of flags on this 2-page spread?!?  hehehe  Even i lose count every time :P
Now time for close-ups!

I love Tristan's bright-eyed look on this picture... and the bright bold colors of this layout!

Visit Creative Scrappers now to get more inspiration from the DT and make sure to link up this month for a chance to win a prize from our January sponsor, the awesome kitclub i have had the pleasure of guest designing for these last couple months, My Creative Scrapbook

Birthday Card Set (SIWAS DT Reveal)

It is time for another DT reveal at Scrap It with a Song!  I can't believe that my 6-month term with SIWAS is almost done - only 1 more reveal to go after this one!

Today, we are craftin' to the sound of one of my fave singers.... the one and only Adele!  The song pick is her hit song Rumour Has It.  Visit the SIWAS blog to see all the DT inspiration and to see what you could win if you play along this month!  It's a fabulous prize!

Whenever i played the phrase 'Rumour has it' in my head, all i could think of was 'It's your birthday!' so i thought why not make a special birthday card...  I ended up making 5!
These cards are all created with the Happy Day collection from Simple Stories.

Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day everyone!

And if it just happens to be YOUR birthday today...  well...

Have an EXTRA wonderful day! :)
