ONE FINE DAY - Card
(More Than Words DT - October Mini Challenge)

There's only one week left in October (where does the time go!?)
so that means it's time for me to share another mini project
for the More Than Words Mini Challenge.  This time, I created a card.

The October Mini word is... FINE.

Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

I wanted to keep this card bright and cheerful, perfect for a birthday.

I added the word FINE using Thickers alphas.

Tags are one of my favorite elements to use on any project
so I used 2 on this card.  I also created layers with a doily,
fussy cut flowers and lots of bright beautiful flowers.

As I often do, I 'whitewashed' my final product by dabbing
some white acrylic paint on pretty much... everything. :)

I really hope that you will play along!

THANKFUL - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance - 'Falling Leaves' Kit
+ Off the Rails Scrapbooking October Challenge)

Hello! This is my 4th and final project created
with the Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit!

I opted for a neutral colour combination of grey and white
with a touch of different shades of yellow!

I can never get enough of Autumn-themed layouts and projects,
so this was the perfect kit for me! Plus, I have loads of Fall photos to scrap,
this one from my boyfriend and I's very first Autumn together back in 2006!
The leaves were just starting to change colour and we were FALLing in love!

Look at all those gorgeous blooms all from the Floral add-on.

In the Elements add-on, there is some beautiful Washi tape from Prima
so I added a few strips on this page. I decorated with many pieces of Prima Ephemera.

Look at us... so young and hopeful!  And the spark is as much alive as it was then!

Now it's your turn... make sure that you share with us your creations
using the Scraps of Darkness or Scraps of Elegance kits
by joining our Facebook Mixed Media Community right HERE.

SWEET AS HONEY - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Falling Leaves' Kit
+ Stuck?! Sketches Challenge)

Are you up for another Autumn-inspired layout
created with the gorgeous Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit?

Well, here it is...

I was inspired by this awesome sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

I so love how this layout turned out!  From the gorgeous background paper
to the many layers of fussy cut flowers, die cut doilies, chipboard elements
and the beautiful flowers and bling... all from the kit and its add-ons!

Let's take a look at some details:

This combination of warm colours go so well together and look at those scalloped
chipboard borders from the Blue Fern Studios Amber & Apricot collection!

I didn't add much mixed media techniques to this page except for a few
dabs of white paint on my flowers.  The background paper is so pretty just as it is.

I used this very sweet photo of my friend's daughter as the focal point.
It just went along so well with the 'sweet as honey' theme!

I will be back tomorrow with yet another "Falling Leaves" project!
Make sure to come back for more!!

HAPPY DAY - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT
+ Stuck?! Sketches Challenges)

I am back today to share with you this very fun and shabby chic page
as part of my 2nd October DT reveal for none other than Dusty Attic!

I was inspired by this sketch design from the October 1st challenge at Stuck?! Sketches:

I kept this layout fairly simple and didn't use too much mixed media.

Anyone who is familiar with my work could say that I have
two scrappy personalities... one is very simple chabby shic old style and
the other elegant, romantic and more mixed media based.
This one comes from simple scrappy Nicole.

On my background, I used the Butterflight stencil along with Dusty in Colour paint.
My chipboard was mostly just coloured with markers for a clean bare look
and I added dabs of paint on the butterflies.

This is my niece at Butterfly World, so of course I had to use
some lovely chipboard butterflies from Dusty Attic.

My very first creative step towards this layout were picking out
these gorgeous Evening Blush flowers.  I loved the colour and knew
that I wanted to make a page with them so I went in my stash in search
of papers, embellishments and photos... and voila!

I absolutely love the Page Pebbles!

Now let's take a look at all the fabulous Dusty Attic products used.

OH SO SWEET - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Case File 240
+ SCRAP THE GIRLS October Challenge)

I'm getting really good at detective work, I must say!
I have yet another solved case under my belt,
and this time it's a sweet one!

This is Case No. 240 from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.
Click HERE to find out how to play along and to see lots more
inspiration from all my fellow CSI DT detectives!

I love all CSI case files, but I have to say that this one is my fave so far!

Here's how I solved it:

Did you know that October 15th is National Cake Decorating Day?!
Who knew that such a day even existed?! Well, it does and this case's Scene
is inspired by it.  And I got inspired by the yummy cakes in the image!

The Scheme consists of a very feminine palette which includes
pale pink, pale turquoise blue, scarlet, black and white.

From the Evidence list, I chose:
polka dots, stripes, a heart, cupcakes, flowers,
texture paste, pearls and a sprinkle of microbeads.

For the Testimony, I decided to journal about my love of eating,
and of course, that is where the cupcakes come into play,
and I decorated my journaling spot with some fancy
pink parentheses and a sparkling jewel heart.

I decided to play along with another awesome challenge
in the creation of this layout and that is
Scrap The Girls' October 'Think Pink' challenge.

Now let's take a closer look at my page!

I've had the wooden cupcake and word 'eat' in my stash for months,
and I knew that I wanted to use it somehow in a title 'If You Are What You Eat'.
This case file file seemed the perfect occasion!

The title was created with a combination of wooden word, chipboard word (Dusty Attic)
and alpha stickers from a vintage Carta Bella collection called Paris Girl.
The colours of the papers were perfect for the Scheme. I just added a little blue.

I decorated my cupcake with pearls and microbeads...
and the lovely flair is from Cuts2luv.

As described above, I decorated my journaling spot.
It's true... I love food a bit too much, but what's not to love, right?

I actually went and bought some cupcakes to take the photos for this layout.
And yes, of course, I had to eat them!  They were... 'oh so SWEET!' hehe

Thank you for dropping by!

LOVELY FALL DAY - Double Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Falling Leaves' Kit
+ Scrap Our Stash October Tic Tac Toe Challenge)

I am back today with another Scraps of Elegance 'Falling Leaves' kit project!

When I started scrapbooking back in 2004, and in the first few years after that,
all that I ever did were double-page layouts.
Even though my style has changed and I now do mostly single pages,
I occasionally like to go back to my roots.  Double page means double fun!

I am playing along with the Scrap Our Stash October Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I opted for a diagonal line using the color orange, pumpkins and some die-cuts.

I opted for a plain white cardstock background
as I thought it the best way to showcase the many beautiful
patterned papers out of the main kit and the coordinated paper add-on.

I love the black, orange and yellow combo over the white.

The pictures are of my good friend's family Fall photoshoot.

I used many of the Prima Ephemera die-cuts and Word Stickers.
The Elements Add-On includes some fabulous Prima washi tape
which I used on this double spread to add some vertical shiny layers.

If you love the Fall season as much as I do, you will absolutely
adore the latest Scraps of Elegance 'Falling Leaves' kit.
It's simply and utterly FALL FABULOUS!

My page was inspired by the Cuts2luv October mood board challenge right HERE.

I chose a photo with some very colorful trees in the background
as well as some leaves as embellishments.  I also went along with
the gorgeous Fall-inspired colour palette. I don't tend to scrapbook
in reds and oranges often although I absolutely adore both colours.
And of course, I used some pretty Cuts2luv flair on my page!

Now, let's take a closer look at my layout.

Every Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance kits come with so many elements
that the creative possibilities are endless, and this kit is no exception.

Among the Blue Fern Studios chipboard, the Prima Ephemera and Word Stickers
as well as all the lovely papers, I found so much inspiration.

The main kit comes with some gorgeous blooms from 49 and Market,
and if you're like me and can never get enough of beautiful flowers,
then you can subscribe to the floral add-ons.  The September Floral add-on
includes 4 packs of Prima flowers all from the Amber Moon collection.

This photo of Yves and I was taken in 2015 during a Fall photoshoot
with my best friend Christine as the amateur, yet very talented, photographer.

I hope that you've enjoyed my first project created with the 'Falling Leaves' kit.

I will be back soon with some more Scraps of Elegance inspiration.
