Forever Sisters & Friends
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Watercolor Wishes' Kit)

So what am I sharing with you today?

This shabby chic layout featuring the newly released Scraps of Elegance kit!

The Scraps of Elegance February kit is called 'Watercolor Wishes' and features beautiful papers from 49 and Market collection Heirloom Botanicals.  The main kit along with the elements and floral add-ons include gorgeous flowers and stamps also from 49 and Market as well as many other fabulous products.

Elements Add-On

Floral Add-On

The main inspiration for this layout was this beautiful quote from the 49 and Market stamp set.  I wanted to celebrate sisters so I decided to scrap photos of my nieces.  I do not have a sister and found myself throughout life often wishing for that special bond.  I'm happy that my nieces have each other.

Below you can see close-ups of many of the gorgeous flowers in the Floral Add-On.
I turned some of the smaller roses a shade of coral orange using mists to go along with the papers. The blue flowers are from my own stash.

This lovely chipboard piece is from Blue Fern Studios and is included in the Elements Add-On.  I covered it with melon embossing powder and white washed it with white acrylic paint, doing the same to most of my embellishments.  I used Copic markers to add a bit of blackish brown on the Prima gems and the metal heart included in the kit, and I sprinkled some black microbeads around my flower clusters.

I am very happy with this layout.  The 49 and Market papers are full of beautiful colors to chose from, and I found that they went perfectly with my nieces' school pictures.  Who would have thought that different shades of orange, purple and blue would create such a lovely color combo?  I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

I Love You Card
(More Than Words February Mini Challenge)

A very quick blog post today to share with you a special card for the month of love!

If you haven't guessed already, this card was created for the February Mini Challenge at More Than Words, and this month's mini word is, quite obviously, LOVE.

Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge and to see loads of gorgeous DT inspiration.  You have until February 28th to share with us your project on the More Than Words Facebook page.

And now here are some close-ups of my card:

I used mostly leftovers from my DT project for the Main Challenge (shared with you on the 1st of the month) so you see lots of black, white and bright pink with touches of gold.

I made sure to add lots of gold shimmery mist and sprinkles of pink microbeads, to create a messy mixed media look.

I hope that you will take the time this coming week to join us on this Mini Challenge.
Share the LOVE, as they say! :)

Magic Winter Days
(ScrapBerry's DT Reveal)

It's DT reveal time for me over on the ScrapBerry's blog
and this is the layout that I have created for you this time:

Since it is still very much Winter in my part of the world (Canada) and the snow is not about to go away (we still easily have 2 months to go), I thought it would be very fitting to create a Winter-themed project. I looked through my ScrapBerry's stash and found these pretty papers and embellishments from both the Winter Joy and Once Upon A Winter collections that seemed perfect for the photo of my friend's adorable daughter in her snow suit.

As you can see, I mixed and matched different elements from either collections and fussy cut some of the lovely Winter images and sentiments from the papers. I added a bit of stenciling on my background to create some snowflake design with molding paste and pink glitter.

I absolutely love that ScrapBerry's collections come with so many wonderful embellishments, perfect to fully adorn any project.  On this layout, you can see I used wooden buttons, metal embellishments, decorative cork, adhesive gems and of course paper flowers.  There is definitely something for everyone's taste and crafty needs.

How do you like my Winter page?  Does it make you want to long for snow in your part of the world?  If I could, I would send some your way! hehe

Ensemble
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Be Mine' kit
+ ARTastic February challenge)

Hello!  It is time for me to share with you my 4th and final DT project
created with the Scraps of Elegance 'Be Mine' kit and also inspired
by the February challenge on the ARTastic blog which you can see below.

The beautiful painting that follows is called Carousel Delight and is the artwork of Karen Pierce. It is the inspiration piece for the February ARTastic challenge with an added criteria of 'butterflies'.

I was immediately inspired by this artwork which I find so beautiful.
It made me think of childhood and the carefree and playful nature of children.

I decided to scrap photos of my friends' daughters and was inspired
by the colours of the painting, namely accented with lots of gold.

I added a lot of flowers just as on the artwork and some fun shiny embellishments,
some from the SOE kit and some from my own stash.

And I added one single butterfly that I embossed with golden brown shimmery powder.

These 2 little girls are such cuties, wouldn't you agree?

Just the 2 of Us
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Be Mine' Kit
PLUS Words & Paintery February challenge)

Back again today with yet another project featuring the Scraps of Elegance 'Be Mine' kit,
this time a double page layout also inspired by the Words & Paintery February challenge.

This month, Words & Paintery is giving us a very happy and bright colour palette
with a beautiful quote for inspiration.  Click HERE to find out more about their challenge.

As you can see, I started off with aqua blue and pink papers from the SOE kit
on a white background and then played around with some mists
to create splatters of colour here and there.

You could almost say... a 'never ending dance' of pastels! :)

I incorporated many of the Kaisercraft diecuts from the kit and inspired by the title,
I created a collage of photos of my boyfriend and I, from different years in our relationship.

I hope you enjoy!

Here is another look at the 'Be Mine' kit with the add-ons that I used for this layout:

Little Moments
(Creative Scrappers Sketch 303)

Continuing on with the obvious love theme this month, I am back on this very special day to share with you my take on Sketch 303 from Creative Scrappers!

This is Sketch 303!  You can learn more about this challenge right HERE and visit the Creative Scrappers blog throughout the month for constant inspiration based on this sketch.

Since I knew my DT reveal was falling on Valentine's Day, I knew that I had to make my layout as 'Valentin-y' as possible so I added lots of hearts, some pinks and reds and a picture of my boyfriend and I getting cozy during a special romantic night out.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

I did some misting on the background and on my embellishments and added a bit of handmade border stitching... with a couple hearts peaking through.

Every little moment that we spent together make for splendid memories to document and scrap.

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!

Doux Moment
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Be Mine' Kit
PLUS Cuts2luv & Berry71bleu February Challenges)

I told you I would be back with more creations using the Scraps of Elegance 'Be Mine' kit....
well, here goes:

I made this layout very soft and shabby chic using mostly some ScrapBerry's paper from the Paper Add-On as well as gorgeous die-cut elements from Kaisercraft from the Elements Add-On.

I was inspired by 2 fabulous challenges which I thought went well together.

First, this is the February challenge board from Cuts2luv... a French-Canadian flair & chipboard manufacturer from the neighboring province of Quebec.

I have been eyeing these very inspirational boards on the Cuts2luv blog now for a few months and have finally had the chance to play along since I recently purchase some of their beautiful products.  The challenge is to use a minimum of 2 of the proposed elements in the board.  I tried to incorporate all 5, using pink, white, grey and black as my palette (Combo), lots of clustering of die-cuts, flowers, paper strips, etc (Technique: Clustering), a picture of Yves and I joined in a kiss (Photo: Bisou), a die-cut image for a subtitle saying 'I love you most of all' (Titre: Je t'aime) and lastly based my design on the sketch (Sketch) included.  I also used the chipboard title 'Doux Moment' as well as 3 pieces of flair from Cuts2luv, all from my own stash (not included in the SOE kit).

The second challenge from which I took inspiration is this super romantic and sweet mood board from Berry71bleu.  I based myself mostly on the soft peachy pink colours with black and grey accents, and the overall theme of LOVE.

Now let's look at some close-ups:

As you can see, my embellishments form many layers on my page.  I used so many of the Kaisercraft die-cuts plus some beautiful flowers from Prima from the SOE Floral Add-On.

The SOE kit includes a new product that I had never tried before... Nuvo Jewel Drops.  I added a few drops here and there on my page and smudged it with a paintbrush to give a translucent pink tint to my background.

I absolutely adore the striped black and white Cuts2luv flair!

The quote from the die-cut sums up my feelings for Yves perfectly.  He is my soulmate, and I am so blessed to have found him!

I hope you enjoy this layout - Let me know in the comments! :)
