Owl Frame (KaiserCraft 'What a Hoot')

If you think owls are cute as much as i do and you find yourself purchasing every single owl-based paper or embellishment you find, then you MUST remember KaiserCraft's What A Hoot collection. It offered amazing shades of browns and greens and the most adorable little owls!  At the time of its release, i splurged on the paper and ended up with a lot of leftovers (much to my bliss as it makes terrific cards)! I recently decided to use some of those leftovers to alter a cheap frame i bought at the Dollarstore for just that purpose. Before i start, i must apologize for the poor quality of some of the pictures - Mr Sun hasn't properly shown his face for days in my neck of the woods. And the fact that i arrive home from work only at 5pm every day sure does not help! :(

The frame originally looked like this:
I started off by covering it with 2 coats of black KaiserColour paint. My intention was to then add some brown Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint, but much to my disappointment, i opened the not-so-old container only to find that the paint had totally dried up! I had to think up a plan B, so i decided to cover the entire frame (and the black Kaiser paint) with plain-coloured chipboard as i found it went well with the shades of the What A Hoot paper.  Then, with a handmade flower, a wooden button, some twine, a little bling, some KaiserCraft chipboard alphabet and wood flourishes and a HOOT of a good time, i ended up with this cute frame of which, needless to say, i am very proud...

Thank you for looking! I hope i have inspired you to take out your What A Hoot scraps to turn them into wooonderful projects!
