Rejoice (Tresors de Luxe December Challenge & Sketchabilities #128)

Aww... Christmas, a time to celebrate and rejoice with the people we love!

And, of course, so much inspiration and endless creative opportunities.

My layout was inspired by 2 awesome challenges.

The Tresors de Luxe December mood board is just beautiful.

  It holds so many elements that I wanted to incorporate in my layout, in my own way.   

The frosty pears inspired me to use sparkly Say It in Crystals by Prima 

and a pretty shade of ivory as my background.  

I also added a touch of gold in my picture and light dabs of 

champagne-coloured paint on my embellishments.  

The lighted house decorations made me use a lot of holly vines and lots of sparkle.

All in all, I tried to make my layout as Christmassy as this mood board is.

 I was also inspired by Sketch #128 at Sketchabilities.

It's a beauty!

Now let's take a look at some close-ups.

I used very little paper on my layout, but lots of embellishments,

 including several Petaloo flowers and many 2Crafty chipboard pieces 

(Christmas Mini Word Set 1, Corner Holy Vines, Card Word Circles Christmas, 

Christmas Decorative Ornament Borders and Formal Flourish 1)

and, as already mentioned, Prima Say It in Crystals.

I stenciled in some molding paste on the background, 

just enough to give texture to some parts of my page.

I treated much of the chipboard the same way,

adding a thick coat of clear gesso on each piece, heating it up with a heat gun until it bubbled,

then painted them with acrylic silks and Smooch paint.
