I went mixed media today while I had a day off work,
and I created this small and simple canvas inspired
by the Mixed Media & Art May challenge:
The Mixed Media & Art challenge offers Architecture as the theme
and proposes a small format project. Click HERE to learn
all the details and see gorgeous inspiration from their DT.
My canvas is definitely of a smaller format... 2.5" wide x 8" tall.
After priming it with white gesso, I hadn't some texture to it
by using a brick stencil and molding paste. I then added colour,
reddish brown, grey and black for the brick part on the left
and a combination of teal, turquoise, blue and white on the right.
Because I wanted to keep it simple, I opted to add
a plain house chipboard shape coloured with Distress Stain.
I then added a heart which I embossed with polka dots
and I painted a very light shade of blue.
I placed a swirly 'smoke' of flowers coming out
of the house chimney and sprinkled some microbeads.
And there you have it... a very simple home decor!
Thank you to Mixed Media & Art for the inspiration!!
