Pretty Lady
(SOE "Petals" kit & 123 Challenge)

I have been busy the last few days with the gorgeous October kit from Scraps of Elegance called Petals.  This kit features mix matched papers from Kaisercraft and CoutureCreations as well as many other elements from BoBunny, Prima, Petaloo and so much more.  I will be sharing some pictures of the kit at the end of the post, but first, let's take a look at my first 'Petals' project, a very pretty layout for a 'Pretty Lady'... my mom.

I was inspired by this fabulous challenge at 123 Challenge.

As you can see, the colour Peach is predominant throughout my layout.

The word 'Pretty' inspired me to scrap a lovely photo of my mom when she was a young lady.  It is one of my favorite pictures of her - she looks so elegant and poised.  I wish I could have known her back then.  I added the word to my title, using orange Thickers that I whitewashed to make them look peachy.

I added a pleated paper border along the right edge. It was orange and didn't match my page so I whitewashed it too to make it go along with the rest of my products.

My mom has turned 65 just last month, and she is just as pretty now as she was back then. :)

Take a closer look at the Petals kit with the add-ons that I used.
