Sweet Happy Days
(CSI #171 & Sketchabilities #144)

As much as I love creating projects every month for my several DTs,
I also enjoy checking all my favorite challenge blogs, bookmarking their current
challenges at the start of the month or on specific release dates and marking down the ones
that peak my creativity the most.  Every month, I hope that I'll be able
to find the time to play along, but alas, I have to pick and choose.

One of my choices so far this month resulted in this 'sweet happy' layout:

I was inspired by CSI Case File No. 171.

If you're never heard of CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration challenges,
then you are missing out!  They are such a great concept and so much fun!
The basis is to base your layout on a Case File which offers an image
with a Color Scheme (use all colours), a list of Evidence (use at least 3 clues)
and Testimony including a list of journaling ideas.
More details on how I solved this case below!

Inspiration also came from gorgeous Sketch #144 of Sketchabilities.

Using a FabScraps pink with golden brown polkadot background with strips
of darker pink and white cardstock as well as a mixture of light pink, dark pink
and white flowers and embellishments, I was able to incorporate
all the YUMMY colors of the Scheme:
Cherry Vanilla, Strawberry Scoop, Cake Cone, Marshmallow, Waffle Cone.

I included many clues from the Evidence list on my layout:
food accent (cute heart-covered cupcake), wood (cupcake and 'Sweet' title),
banners (created with My Mind's Eye chipboard shapes), dots (on the background paper
and sequins), artisan shapes (framing the 3 pictures and the journaling label),
chevrons & texture paste (stenciling on the background).

For the Testimony, I chose to write my journaling on an artisan shape label (tag).
It is written in French and basically says that since these 2 little girls, all days
are filled with the sweetest smiles.... makes for Sweet Happy Days, as the title states.
I created this page for my friends using pictures of their pretty daughters!

And there you go!

Case #171 has been solved with the help of a beautiful sketch!
Two awesome challenges inspiring a very SWEET layout!
