Everlasting Love (OUAS & Zeus and Zoe Challenges)

I have been very busy creating these last couple days.  DT & GDT projects, challenges, future publications... I cannot wait to be sharing all my creations with you.

First on the list is this layout inspired by both the Once Upon A ...Sketch and the Zeus and Zoe February challenges.

At Once Upon A ...Sketch, the challenge this month was to create a love-themed layout based on this  beautiful sketch by Nadia Cannizzo:

At Zeus and Zoe, the challenge was also "LOVE" and since love is, by far, my favorite scrapbooking subject, it was a challenge i couldn't pass up.  In fact, this is my second entry at Zeus and Zoe for February.  You can click HERE to see my first entry.

I used to write a lot of poetry in the past, most of it not so happy.  Since it was mostly sadness that was my muse back in my most prolific writing days, ever since i met Yves and i have found happiness, i have to say that my poetic mind is not as active any more.  Once in a while though, my love for him has to be put on paper and that's what i did for this layout.  I wrote a poem... a HAPPY one! :)
As a keepsake, my poem is now folded up and tucked behind our picture and the little enveloppe:

I used a lot of chipboard on this layout, namely Dusty Attic and FabScraps.  I covered every piece with white gesso, then a couple coats of acrylic paint.  I then dabbed it with Mustard Seed and Brushed Corduroy distress inks and added a finish of SmoochGlitz for the sparkle effect.

The metal birdcage charm is from Prima and was a bronze color and to make it blend a little better with my layout, i gave it the same treatment as the chipboard.

Flowers are a blend of Prima and KaiserCraft.  I dabbed them all with a little distress ink and SmoochGlitz.

I really love the monochromatic look of this layout and i think it would look great in a frame.  I think i know the perfect spot where to hang it in our house.  I'm very grateful for the inspiration! :)

Check out both the Once Upon A ...Sketch and Zeus and Zoe blogs!  They always have wonderful monthly challenges, fabulous DT reveals and awesome prizes up for grabs.
