My 2012 Resolution (Get Picky & ASC#16)

I have been working on this layout for the past week, and i am so excited to finally being able to share it with you today!  I was inspired by Get Picky's December Inspiration Challenge #15 that asked us to reflect on the New Year and what we resolve to do in 2012.

Of course, like everybody, i always give myself a few resolutions every year, #1 always being to get myself in better shape!  Often, i end up disappointing myself...  But after reading the inspirational poem written by Sandra Sturtz Hauss that Get Picky shared with us (click HERE to read it yourself - it is very beautiful!), i immediately got stuck on this sentence.
"Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you."

We so often concentrate our attention on the negative things in life, the pain, the sorrow, the hate, the disappointments...  In 2012, i resolve myself to be more positive and open my eyes to all the wonderful gifts that this world has to offer every day!  It IS a wonderful life, after all!
My layout is based on this delightful sketch from Artful Delight for ASC#16:

I know that this is only one of my first layout of the year, but i do have a feeling already that it will be in my Top 10 of 2012!  The Authentique Paper collection that i used, called Journey, is so pretty and of top-notch quality, its thickness perfect for distressing!
Using eyelets and regular brown thread, I did a little bit of lacing...
Apart from distressing the paper, i had a lot of fun distressing all the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces too.  Some of them, i just simply sprayed with Glimmer Mist, and others, i painted and then covered with Glossy Accents to give them a glow.

Now, what do YOU resolve to do in 2012?  Keep CREATING i hope! :)
