Rest Stop (multi-challenge layout)

To see my post about The Paper Variety 1 year anniversary Blog Hop, click HERE

After having been pretty unproductive this Summer (for a good reason though *house buying*), this is my 2nd post of the day :-)  I'm feeling blessed today to be able to share this double-page layout with you as the title and theme really hit close to home.  I had a bit of bad luck on Monday evening and have been on forced rest ever since.  Out of pure clumsiness, while on my way to the laundry room, i fell down the stairs (6 hardwood steps) and banged myself up pretty badly.  I was lucky that the laundry basket that i was holding at the time broke most of my fall.  Thank God i have no broken bones, only a lot of bruises and swelling on my lower legs.  There was more fear than pain, but i still have to take it easy for the next few days and get a little rest.  And thus comes the title of my layout...

This layout was inspired by a few challenges.

Firstly, each side is based on a different sketch...

Secondly, the color palette was inspired by Get Picky's August Inspiration Challenge.  In honour of Australia's Cancer Awareness Day for which the theme is daffodils, Get Picky provided us with this daffodil-inspired board to bring awareness to this special cause and inspiration to our craft...
And thirdly, my choice of title for this layout fits the September Challenge at Scrap That! Chat which is to use the title of a song somewhere on the layout. "Rest Stop" just happens to be the title of song by Matchbox 20 that i like very much.

So, the last thing that i mean to be is a shoehorn, but i do believe that makes 4 birds with one stone - hehe

And now for a few close-ups of the layout...

The collection used is KaiserCraft Lilac Avenue, the chipboard comes from Dusty Attic and K&Company, the flowers are Prima and Petaloo.

Hope you like!  Now, i do believe i have to go rest these poor legs of mine...
