BEAUTIFUL LIFE - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - November Main Challenge)

I am so excited to being able to share with you this layout
created for the brand new More Than Words Main Challenge
as I absolutely love the theme of this challenge
and am quite pleased with how my layout turned out!

Here is the November Main Challenge:
Word Inspiration - OUTDOORS
Creative Challenge - WOODGRAIN

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

My favourite season to spend OUTDOORS is the Fall. This couple selfie was taken in October a couple years ago during a beautiful stroll on our hometown ocean boardwalk in the crisp cool Autumn air.

Along with many elements inspired by the outdoors like trees, branches nest and birds, I used a beautiful WOODGRAIN background to respect the creative challenge. If you look really closely, you can even see some woodgrain pattern on a badge used behind my little tree.

Now let's look at some details, starting with this close-up shot at my title which is a gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboard piece that I coloured with Copic markers, then created a teal ombre effect with embossing powder and different paints.

The cute little tree in the image above as well as the branch and bird nest below are also from Dusty Attic. I used a combination of many teal coloured embellishments found in my stash from brads to stickers to flowers right down to microbeads.

This woodgrain pattern from Prima's Amber Moon collection is absolutely gorgeous!

Of course, I need to finish with a close-up of the happy couple!

I really hope that you enjoy this layout as much as I enjoyed creating it!

I cannot wait to see  your take on this month's More Than Words challenge!!

ONE FINE DAY - Card
(More Than Words DT - October Mini Challenge)

There's only one week left in October (where does the time go!?)
so that means it's time for me to share another mini project
for the More Than Words Mini Challenge.  This time, I created a card.

The October Mini word is... FINE.

Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

I wanted to keep this card bright and cheerful, perfect for a birthday.

I added the word FINE using Thickers alphas.

Tags are one of my favorite elements to use on any project
so I used 2 on this card.  I also created layers with a doily,
fussy cut flowers and lots of bright beautiful flowers.

As I often do, I 'whitewashed' my final product by dabbing
some white acrylic paint on pretty much... everything. :)

I really hope that you will play along!

THANKFUL - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance - 'Falling Leaves' Kit
+ Off the Rails Scrapbooking October Challenge)

Hello! This is my 4th and final project created
with the Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit!

I opted for a neutral colour combination of grey and white
with a touch of different shades of yellow!

I can never get enough of Autumn-themed layouts and projects,
so this was the perfect kit for me! Plus, I have loads of Fall photos to scrap,
this one from my boyfriend and I's very first Autumn together back in 2006!
The leaves were just starting to change colour and we were FALLing in love!

Look at all those gorgeous blooms all from the Floral add-on.

In the Elements add-on, there is some beautiful Washi tape from Prima
so I added a few strips on this page. I decorated with many pieces of Prima Ephemera.

Look at us... so young and hopeful!  And the spark is as much alive as it was then!

Now it's your turn... make sure that you share with us your creations
using the Scraps of Darkness or Scraps of Elegance kits
by joining our Facebook Mixed Media Community right HERE.

SWEET AS HONEY - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Falling Leaves' Kit
+ Stuck?! Sketches Challenge)

Are you up for another Autumn-inspired layout
created with the gorgeous Scraps of Elegance "Falling Leaves" kit?

Well, here it is...

I was inspired by this awesome sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

I so love how this layout turned out!  From the gorgeous background paper
to the many layers of fussy cut flowers, die cut doilies, chipboard elements
and the beautiful flowers and bling... all from the kit and its add-ons!

Let's take a look at some details:

This combination of warm colours go so well together and look at those scalloped
chipboard borders from the Blue Fern Studios Amber & Apricot collection!

I didn't add much mixed media techniques to this page except for a few
dabs of white paint on my flowers.  The background paper is so pretty just as it is.

I used this very sweet photo of my friend's daughter as the focal point.
It just went along so well with the 'sweet as honey' theme!

I will be back tomorrow with yet another "Falling Leaves" project!
Make sure to come back for more!!

HAPPY DAY - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT
+ Stuck?! Sketches Challenges)

I am back today to share with you this very fun and shabby chic page
as part of my 2nd October DT reveal for none other than Dusty Attic!

I was inspired by this sketch design from the October 1st challenge at Stuck?! Sketches:

I kept this layout fairly simple and didn't use too much mixed media.

Anyone who is familiar with my work could say that I have
two scrappy personalities... one is very simple chabby shic old style and
the other elegant, romantic and more mixed media based.
This one comes from simple scrappy Nicole.

On my background, I used the Butterflight stencil along with Dusty in Colour paint.
My chipboard was mostly just coloured with markers for a clean bare look
and I added dabs of paint on the butterflies.

This is my niece at Butterfly World, so of course I had to use
some lovely chipboard butterflies from Dusty Attic.

My very first creative step towards this layout were picking out
these gorgeous Evening Blush flowers.  I loved the colour and knew
that I wanted to make a page with them so I went in my stash in search
of papers, embellishments and photos... and voila!

I absolutely love the Page Pebbles!

Now let's take a look at all the fabulous Dusty Attic products used.
