Christmas Vintage Cards Set (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 3)

For my last Blue Fern Studios DT project, I created this trio of Christmas cards.

What is great about the Vintage Christmas collections' Greeting Cards and Holiday Cards papers 

is that they are full of beautiful journaling cards and images, perfect for card making.

 On this card, I used the Holiday vine and some Holly Sprigs chippies.

I also took a cream flower from the Soft Blossoms and turned it red using the Santa's Suit embossing powder.

 On Card 2, you can see the leftover Dangled Flake from my A Wonderful Life layout shared 2 days ago.

These little leaves are the negative pieces from the Holly Sprigs.

I love all the beautiful vintage imagery from these papers.

Card 3 is set up on a misted and stenciled background.

You can see here that I added red gems on the Holly Sprigs.  The leaves were treated with Clover embossing powder and then dabbed with white paint for my signature white washing.

I cut a side of the Stars & Berries Frame, covered it in Snow embossing powder and added a touch of the new Vintage Gold glitter on the stars.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 2 & CSI 219)

My next project as part of my DT reveal for Blue Fern Studios is another layout using the gorgeous Vintage Christmas collections, this time documenting a very special Christmas wish.

This layout was inspired by Major Case File No. 219 from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration.

The SCENE inspired me to scrapbook one of my favorite Christmas pictures, and quite obviously, make my page as festive as possible with holly, red gems and lots of gold, glitz and glitter. I incorporated the SCHEME and based myself on the SKETCH provided in the case file.  As for the EVIDENCE, I opted for : PLAID patterned paper, candy cane STRIPES, lots of HOLIDAY STUFF, TWINE, TAGS, STARS and a TREE on my photo.  My TESTIMONY consists of a bit of journaling in which I use the word WISH.

Before I met Yves, I had spent many a Holiday season surrounded by family and friends, but still somewhat lonely, wishing for true love, the kind of love that lasts a lifetime. My wish came true in 2006 and, since then, I get to spend every Christmas with my life partner, my soulmate, my best friend.  

This picture was taken on Christmas eve a couple years ago. That is why I chose the Blue Fern Studios title 'Twas the Night Before Christmas as the title, on which I used the new Santa's Suit embossing powder.  It's red and glittery and perfect for any Christmas project!

 On my background, I used the Weathered Doilies stamp with the Ebony powder. I added Holly Springs, covered with Sage and Santa's Suit, to my flower cluster and bits of Mixed Chains, covered in 14Karat, along the top and bottom of my picture.

Here you see a piece of the Holiday Vine, all decorated in gold.

And a final close-up of my Christmas wish come true!

A Wonderful & Cozy Life (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1 & some challenges)

What a bittersweet post this is for me, as after a year of being on this wonderful team, this is the 1st of my last 3 posts as DT member on the Blue Fern Studios blog.

Through the year, I have been blessed with wonderful scrappy friends, fabulous quality products from generous owner Leslie and inspiration galore.  I am forever grateful of having been given this amazing opportunity and will forever hold a special place in my heart for Blue Fern Studios.

Let's start off this series of farewell posts with this Winter-y creation featuring the gorgeous Vintage Christmas collections 1 & 2.

Their rock song inspiration this month is Hammerfall's Send Me a Sign.  I had never heard that song and found the melody to be quite soft and romantic, very beautiful, but with very sad lyrics.  It reminded me of how I used to feel about Winter before I met Yves... it was a truly sad and depressing time for me. I kept wishing for a sign of true love.  Now, each day spent with him is a testament that life can be wonderful and some things are truly worth waiting for. 

Now let's take a closer look at my page...

The Blue Fern Studios' Vintage Christmas collections not only offer beautiful Christmas patterns, 

but also include lots of papers that are perfect for Winter-themed layouts like this plaid print.  

To go along with it, I chose several Winter chipboard pieces including the Snow Medley board, covered in Snow embossing powder with a touch of glitter dust, and these adorable mittens from the Cozy Christmas set on which I used It's a Girl and Blue Sky. 

You see below the Dangled Flake piece which I cut in half as I wanted to save some of it for another project. I added several flowers from the new kits, Christmas Blooms and Soft Blossoms.  I sprinkled lots of silver microbeads throughout my page.

I chose A Wonderful Life, covered in Snow, as the title to which I added the word Cozy which I 'stole' from the Cozy Christmas piece, as that is exactly the word that comes to mind when I look at this picture of Yves and I cozying up to each other for a selfie during a Winter stroll.

Wonder Big (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 2)

I am back today to reveal another DT project for Blue Fern Studios.

This one is as masculine as yesterday's was feminine.

I started off with some vintage Paisley & Vine papers to go along with this more masculine theme.

The title was taken from the Wish Wonder Dream set which I covered with Blue Sky embossing powder.  I added some Lightbulbs covered with Sand & Sea.

The lightbulbs were inspired by the fabulous November challenge at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo!

Again, I divided a longer piece of chipboard into 2 pieces, this time a piece of the Printer's Bits to fit vertically above and below my photo. On this piece is the Ruby embossing powder which I dabbed with a little bit of brighter red acrylic paint.

Some more of the Printer's Bits layered over the Triangle Eclipse covered in Stellar Night and dabbed with brown paint. On the background paper, I stamped the netting design from the Essential Textures stamp set.

Yes, you've seen this little cutie before... he is  my friend's son, Tristan.

Sweet Moment (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1)

Today is my DT reveal day on the Blue Fern Studios blog. You can see it all right HERE!

Here is my first layout... somewhat of a teal shabby chic style, 

featuring my niece Ella with her violin !

I used papers from the Serendipity collection to create a grid pattern collage on my page.  The brick design was made using the Essential Textures stamp and Snow Imagine Ink embossing powder.

I combined 2 chipboard pieces to create my title, one from the Sweet & Lucky set on which I created an ombre effect with the Sea Mist, Snow and Caribbean powders, and the other from the French Words set covered with Ebony.

Obviously, most of the pretty flowers found on my page are from Blue Fern Studios!  The bigger teal flower with the fuzzy center is from the brand new Memoires Blooms set - it's gorgeous!

Below you see the very elegant Gatsby Collage that I divided into 2 pieces to slide at either end of my photo.

The chipboard piece that inspired this whole concept is the Courtship Violin that you see peaking out from the bottom corner of the photo of my pretty and gifted niece, Ella!  (She has since decided to trade in her violin for a hockey stick - hehe)

An Autumn Story (Blue Fern Studios November Challenge)

Blue Fern Studios has just released a brand new challenge for all of you and this is my layout inspired by it, featuring their latest collection, Memoires!

The November challenge is simply to use a Blue Fern Studios chipboard title on your project, ANY title.  Click HERE for all the details and for more DT inspiration!

The gorgeous Fall foliage is pretty much all gone where I live... snow is imminent, I can feel it!  But I just had to squeeze in another Autumn-inspired layout, especially since the Memories collection papers are just so perfect for it.  And I had the perfect title in my BFS chipboard stash... An Autumn Story.  I simply covered the title with a new favorite shade of Imagine Ink embossing powder called Golden Brick.

On my background, I sprays different Autumn hues of Lindy's plus used the new Crackled Textures stamps with brown ink and added some stenciling with modeling paste.

After treating it with a mix of Golden Bricks and Chili Powder powders, I cut the Treasured Floral Frame into several pieces to adorn my page with it here and there, combining them with the Fall Foliage set.  On the leaves, I mixed some Chili Powder, Tangerine and Nutmeg.

Another chipboard set that I am totally in love with is the Pretty Pumpkins set and here you see the smaller piece. Totally gorgeous!

Finally, here is a closer look at the 'Autumn story' that I chose to document on this layout, a very beautiful shot of a splendid Fall day spent with my man, and framed with beautiful earthy tone flowers, including BFS Tranquil blooms.

We Remember Moments (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 3)

For my last Blue Fern Studios project today, I decided I would give you a double treat in a double-page layout!

You see on this page my favorite papers from the Serendipity collection.  I must say, these papers look as if they have been designed especially for me!  Soft flowery patterns in teal and red, ivory book prints and gorgeous vintage romance... absolutely stunning!

This double spread needed a big and bold title so I used the Remember Moments piece covered in Ruby. 

You see here the elegant Attic Stairs covered in Ebony.

I framed both sides of my layout with pieces of the Blue Fern Frame and I added an Ironwork Accent piece on the left side. The red Attic Charm Glitter Roses seemed ideal for this page and you can see that I also added a bit of Watermelon glitter onto my background.

I added favorite photos of my boyfriend and I throughout our 10 years together.
