JOY TO THE WORLD
- wood board canvas -
(More Than Words DT - December Main Challenge)

This is a bittersweet post for me as it is my last More Than Words Main Challenge DT reveal. After a 5 years of co-managing this amazing challenge blog with some of the best scrapbooking ladies out there and designing with the cream of the creative crop from all around the world, I have decided to step down and give someone else an amazing opportunity and experience.

I will be taking a break from Design Teams as of January
as I feel like I need to resource myself in order to regain the passion
and inspiration of this fabulous hobby that I still love so much.
This obviously means that I will post a lot less for a few months,
but I have hopes that eventually I will be able to rekindle my creative spark!

But in the meantime, take a look at my MTW December main challenge project.

Word inspiration - REJOICE
Creative challenge - ANYTHING GOES

all the gorgeous creations of my fellow DT!

The word REJOICE (and it being December) made me of course think of Christmas. It is definitely 'the most wonderful time of the year' during which most families take joy in spending quality time together in peace, love and harmony.

For the ANYTHING GOES creative challenge, I decided to create a mixed media canvas on a snowflake shape wooden board. It does not look big in the picture, but it is 10 x 10 inches. And I added lots of sparkly snowflakes and festive poinsettias.

I found this snowflake shape wood board at my local dollar store a couple weeks ago
and immediately knew that I would use it for this challenge.
It was already painted white, but I added a couple more coats as well as some stenciling
with modeling paste and shimmery silver stencil paste.

I decorated with several different styles, sizes and brands of snowflakes.
Some of them I covered with white embossing powder, some with gold ink
and others I left bare. All the pretty seasonal flowers are from Prima.

I sprinkled silver glitter as well as gold microbeads on to my canvas.

The gold and the silver are definitely a festive combination!

I hope that you like this project and that you will play along with us at More Than Words!

YOU & ME WE MAKE A GREAT TEAM
- tag -
(More Than Words DT - November Mini Challenge)

I am back today with a brand new mini challenge project for More Than Words!

Here is the November mini challenge showcasing the word GREAT.
You can find out all the details on this fun challenge right HERE.
I decided to create a tag with a combination of mini tags on it.

I love looking through my stash to find something with the mini word on it
every month. It forces me to use up my old stash and to sometimes think outside the box.

I really love the silver hearts against the hot pink as well as white and black accents.

Hope you like it!

PARIS PERFECTION
- single page layout -
(Dusty Attic DT - November Mood Board)

Hello everyone!

Have you played along with the gorgeous Dusty Attic November mood board yet?
I have to say that of all the mood boards this year, this one is my favorite,
and this is my layout inspired by it.

Here is the Dusty Attic November mood board:

It is pretty obvious that I try to stick to the colour combination as much as possible. It was fairly easy as I found a patterned paper in my stash that matched it perfectly! It put me in a romantic elegant mood which made me think of Paris, so along with a picture of the famous Eiffel Tower, my theme was chosen and this is the final result.

I created the title using the Alphabet Jumble to spell 'Paris' and the word 'perfection' from Word Pack #9. I love that the title is bilingual. hehe  I simply used white embossing powder on the title and dark pink embossing powder on the Baroque Flourish #4 as well as the Eiffel Tower.

I absolutely love the Paris Postmark set. So perfect for this page!
I used a couple different shades of Distress Oxide Sprays as well as
Dusty in Colour Dusty Pink acrylic paint.

Below you see the right side vertical cluster in which I've added the Eiffel Tower
and a piece of the Travel Border.  I thought to also add a Mini Tag #2 and some small frames from the Polaroid Frame Set #3. I also cut up some pieces of the Fancy Trim #1 to add a little touch of the french Fleur de Lys symbol which I colored with yellow embossing powder.

Here is a final look at my design!

VIVRE LE MOMENT PRÉSENT
- single page layout -
(The Dusty Attic DT)

I'm on The Dusty Attic blog today to share this brand new project
showcasing their fabulous chipboard!

With this page, I started off with a very reflective French title and wordplay. It went well with this picture of myself that my boyfriend took when we started dating more than 10 years ago. I look at the same time contemplative and at peace. I find that getting older, I now sometimes struggle with anxiety, and I have to constantly remind myself to enjoy the present and live one day at a time as I did back then.

On the title, I used 2 shades of embossing powder, peach in the center and white along the upper and bottom edge. I used the same powders on some of the other chipboard. I decorated with a couple arrows from the Tribal sets and the Designer Discs #5 Script which I adore!

For the wordplay strip I chose some sparkly teal powder as well on the intricate
Heraldry Motif that I added in the right hand corner and underneath my photo.

Below you see some beautiful pieces of the Leafy Garland and Foliage #13.

And here is one last look!

HOME SWEET HOME
- mixed media canvas -
(More Than Words DT - November Main Challenge)

We have another fabulous main challenge reveal over on the More Than Words blog!
We all know that there's nothing like a great challenge to get you in the creative mood!

Here's my project based on this month's challenge.

Here is the November main challenge board from More Than Words.
You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

A very important milestone in life and a proof of one's SUCCESS is the purchase of a brand new house.
I was inspired by this month's word to create this mixed media canvas
as home decor for a special person's new house.

As you can clearly see, I have added a large chipboard key to my canvas
as well as a couple dangling metal keys.

I added some stenciling with modeling paste on the base of my canvas and on the key.
I then used some Distress Oxide Sprays as well as different other brand mists.

Pretty flowers for a pretty canvas!

I love how thick the chipboard key is (it's actually a 3-layer piece).
It gives a lot of depth to the canvas.

The title is from The Dusty Attic.

Make sure to drop by at More Than Words to see all the DT projects
and the fabulous prize up for grabs this month!

WIDE OPEN SPACES
- single page layout -
(The Dusty Attic DT - October Mood Board)

I am back today to share with you my project inspired
by the October mood board challenge from The Dusty Attic.

Here is the beautiful October mood board:

I absolutely love the colour palette and the Autumn feel of this board.
It inspired me to create a layout of the countryside with lots of of same warm hues.

I started with picking out my pictures and found some gorgeous shots
of a sheep pasture and vast fields of green taken while on a ride through the country.
I chose the title Wide Open Spaces which seemed perfect.

I searched my Dusty Attic stash and took out several country and farm themed chipboard,
including the tall Windmill and a piece of the Large Paddock Fence as well as a Wagon Wheel.

I decided to treat all my chipboard with Ranger Distress Stains in different shades of brown.
I wanted to keep everything as earthy looking as possible.

I added a couple Mini Compasses colored in black.

I even kept some of the chippies bare to go along with the kraft color on my page.
Below you see a piece of the beautiful Wheat. I find it to be such an intricate piece!

I think I captured the essence of the mood board quite well.  What do you think?

Now let's see all the Dusty Attic chipboard that I used:
