BRAVE THE STORM - Tag
(More Than Words DT - September Mini Challenge)

This is my Mini Challenge reveal project for More Than Words this month!

Here is the September mini word:
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

In the wake of all the natural catastrophes happening lately in my part of
the globe (I am so very blessed to have been spared!), I thought to use the word
BRAVE in this inspirational quote... to keep courage and strength despite the storms.

I started off with a kraft coloured tag and after much misting,
stenciling and stamping, it turned out into a very warm leathery brown.

The beautiful elegant frame as well as the small feather are from the Dusty Attic.

As a final touch, I sprayed some adhesive glue and sprinkled some beads.

I hope you like and that you will be back to visit to see more!

POUR TOUJOURS - Wedding Card
(Cuts2luv September Challenge)

I got a special order from a friend last week to create a French wedding card.
I thought it would be a great opportunity to play along to a challenge at the same time.

For this card, I was inspired by this gorgeous mood board from Cuts2luv.

I decided to use the colour palette and to add a doily on my card.
I was also inspired by the word Bliss (for the wedding theme),
although I didn't use the actual word on my card.

And of course I added a beautiful flair from this Cuts2luv set right HERE.

One of my favorite colour combination is by far kraft, white and teal/aqua.

This beautiful chipboard heart is from The Dusty Attic.

Thank you so much for dropping by!

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS - Single Page Layout
(Kraft+ September Challenge)

When I saw the September challenge a couple weeks ago on the Kraft+ blog,
I was totally inspired and frankly in love! I couldn't pass up the chance to play along!

The Kraft+ challenge is 'What's the buzz?'.  Find out more about it right HERE.

I of course started off with a kraft background, using a kraft patterned paper
from Simple Stories.  I misted some yellow (inspired by the bees obviously)
on it and added a lot of stamping in dark brown ink.

As soon as I knew I was going to participate in this challenge,
I lined up some embellishments, starting with a very pretty Cuts2luv badge and
these lovely little chipboard bees from The Dusty Attic.  How perfect, right?

My favorite part of the creative process is always picking out the flowers!
For this layout, I opted for some Prima and 49 and Market blooms.

I cannot say that I'm a big fan of bees (yes, bee stings hurt!),
but I have to say that they make for awesome inspiration and beautiful art.

I'm so happy on how this page turned out. I hope you like it as well.

Thank you Kraft+ for challenging me!

BEST DAY EVER - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT + Lindy's & Scrap The Girls Challenges)

Well, Summer is almost over here in my part of the world *sob*,
so I'm already thinking up some Fall themed layouts and here is one
using many Dusty Attic chipboard pieces, other DA goodies
and inspired by 2 awesome challenges from Lindy's and Scrap the Girls.

For my colour palette and the overall theme of my layout,
I was inspired by the September Challenge at Lindy's which
offers this mood board that made me think of the Fall season.

I unfortunately did not own many Lindy's sprays in these particular shades,
but I had to make do with what I had as I absolutely wanted to play along.

I ended up spraying a combination of Cape Cod Coral, C'est la vie Cerise,
and Fuzzy Navel Peach on my background and although not from
the mood board palette,  I added a little Silver Moon Sapphire
embossing powder on some of my chipboard.

The other challenge that inspired me is this fabulous

These photos of me were taken last Autumn season right next to my house.
My neighbour has a nice maple tree in his yard that turns beautiful fiery colors
at this time of year, and I just couldn't pass up such a beautiful photo opportunity.

Now let's take a look at some detailed shots of my page
with more information on the Dusty Attic products used.

I chose to use the Best Day Ever title piece which I simply colored in dark
brown Copic marker.  Underneath it, you can see the Mystic Frame #2
and an Elegant Frame which I covered with Color in Bloom Vintage Gold paint,
some Clear Crackle Varnish and a tiny bit of Lindy's embossing powder.

I love the Page Pebbles and Decorative Dots sets from Dusty Attic
as they are the perfect addition to decorate your project.

Along with many other brand flowers to match my colour palette
(and because I am just addicted to flowers),
I added a few from the Dusty in Bloom collection in beautiful Grassy Knoll.

On the background, I sprayed some Lindy's mist and dabbed
some DA Oceania paint and added some textured design
using the Criss-Cross stencil with modeling paste.

I hope that I was able to inspire you today with this Fall layout!

OMG - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Case File #238
+ Stuck?! Sketches Challenge)

There's a brand new case to solve at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration,
and take a look at how I solved it!

For more information on Case File #238 and all the wonderful prizes up for grabs,
click HERE.  You will also see how my fellow DT members solved it,
and let me tell you, they are a bunch of pretty fabulous detectives!

Let me explain how I solved this case!

The Scene in this case is oh so sweet!
I didn't go with the obvious reading theme, but I was inspired
by many of the clues in the image as described below.

The Scheme, offers you a wonderful palette of page gray,
medium sky blue, mustard gold, white and kiwi green.

From the Evidence list, I chose:
polka dots, text print, animals, string/twine, google eyes and enamel dots.

For the Testimony, I opted to combine two of the September prompts
from which I got the idea of using OMG as my title and writing about
how NOT boring any day spent with this little boy is!

I was also inspired by this fabulous sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

And now let's look at some close-ups:

This cute little owl badge comes from my friend Caroline's Cuts2luv brand!
I added some googly eyes on him to fulfill one of the Evidence requirements.
Most of the chipboard pieces, except for the title, are from The Dusty Attic.

I used a lot of different paper strips inspired by the Stuck?! Sketch
that allowed me to incorporate most of the colours from the Scheme
and I added some handmade stitching with string from the Evidence list.

This 'handsome boy' is my friend Nathalie's son Tristan.  He's a spitfire!

I really hope that you will play along with us at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration!
There are many wonderful sponsors just waiting to give some awesome prizes away!

IMAGINE - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - September Mood Board Challenge)

The September Mood Board Challenge on the Dusty Attic blog is stunning
and it inspired me to create this very colourful layout
incorporating many DA chipboard as well as different stencils,
paints and much more from the Dusty Attic store.

Here is a look at the mood board including a fabulous sketch to get you started.

I am not very adept with the watercolor techniques but I think I did fairly well
using different mists and water on my white background.
In order to have better control of the designs, I find that it is best to
dip a brush into the mist bottle instead of spraying it on the paper.
Then you blend it with water, creating different shades and shapes.

I chose the Blueprint Imagine chipboard as my title.
I colored with a black Copic marker, then lightly sprayed it with white
and colored in the white spots with different colors of the rainbow.

On my background, I added texture and design by using
2 different DA stencils: Words of Wisdom with white modeling paste
and Starry Night with black embossing paste.  You also see below
one Geometric Corner that I cut in two and treated the same as the title.

Dusty Attic has several Beaded Flourish designs, each as beautiful as the other.
I covered it with Cranberry acrylic paint and dabbed it with some Lavender Blush.
The word 'creative' created with the Mini ABC Set in Uppercase was painted with Oceania.

I sprinkled lots of Dress My Craft sequins also found in the Dusty Attic store.
I absolutely adore the way my layout turned out.

I hope you like it as well and that it will inspire you to play along this month!

Now let's take a closer look at all the Dusty Attic products used!

HERE WE GO - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Major Case File #237)

I've been in my scraproom playing creative detective again,
and here is the layout I made inspired by the current

To find out more about Major Case File No. 237
and see lots more DT inspiration, click HERE.

Let me explain how I solved this case!

The Scene represents quite obviously the September return to school event.
But having very few school themed photos, I decided to mostly take inspiration from the colour scheme and scrap a photo of my nieces during a very special school break back
in 2013.

In the Scheme, you find : medium teal, white, lime green,
banana yellow and red with a hint of orange.

From the Evidence list, I opted for:
grid pattern, animals, airplanes and washi tape.

For the Testimony, I chose to 'write steps as in a lesson'.

And as always, the Major Case comes with a wonderful sketch by The Nifty Pixel.

And now let's look at some close-ups:

The paper collection used is from Simple Stories.
The papers matched the colour scheme and went so well with the photo!

I fussy cut some of the tropical images from the papers.
You can never go wrong with flamingos! :)

And here are my 2 wonderful nieces having a grand ol' time in Florida!

Now, let's see how you solve this case!

BECAUSE OF YOU - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - September Main Challenge)

I am sharing with you today my DT reveal
for the September Main Challenge from More Than Words!

Take a look at this fabulous challenge:
Word Inspiration - FEARLESS
Creative Challenge - GRUNGE

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

Life is sometimes a struggle, but most of all, it's a precious blessing full of beauty and inspiration once we decide to let go of our fears and insecurities. This special man has taught me to be a little more open, a lot more grateful and a bit more FEARLESS in my every day life. The creative challenge was indeed a real challenge for me as I don't normally do GRUNGE.  To help me along, I chose some very grungy papers and made them messier by adding stamping, paints and inks as well as lots of masculine accents.

I used Sand Paste on the chippies to give them a rough distressed look
and I added messy inks on my papers to add even more grunge.

The brick paper pattern was obviously inspired by the graffiti image in the challenge board.

And probably the least grunge part about my whole page...
this wonderful man of mine who has the softest kindest heart I know.
He truly does amaze me in so many ways!

So hopefully you have enjoyed this masculine page.
It was a fabulous change from my usual shabby chic flowery layouts.

Thank you for dropping by!
