TORI & HER PIANOS - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - August Main Challenge)

Today is awesome for several reasons...
it's only my 2nd day of Summer vacation (2 weeks off work)
AND
it's reveal day for a brand new More Than Words challenge!

I am so happy to be able to share with you this layout that I created
a couple weeks ago based on the August challenge.

Just look at this gorgeous challenge board:
Word Inspiration - HARMONY
Creative Challenge - SONG LYRICS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

I have been wanting to scrapbook about this subject for a while now,
and what better opportunity  than with this challenge!

I have been a huge fan of Tori Amos for years, and her music inspires me to no end.  The word HARMONY made me think of her kinship with her pianos - she normally has 2 on stage with her and even plays them both at the same time!

I couldn't pick lyrics from just one song as that would have been an impossible choice as there are so many favorites, so I used a collage of some of her most memorable lines.  In my eyes, there is just no other songwriter like her - she is truly one of a kind!

I chose red as the basis colour for my page, quite obviously inspired
by Tori's lovely red hair for which she is so most well known.
I added a bit of aqua blue as it is one of my fave colours.
This older collection from BoBunny seemed to be a perfect fit.

The flairs are from Prima and the gorgeous music note chipboard is from Dusty Attic.

I added some lacing along the edges of my distressed paper layers.
I hadn't used this technique in a while - I used to do it often a few years back.

And here she is... my musical muse!

I really hope that you like my layout.

If you are a Tori fan like me, please let me know in the comments!

For You Little One Card
(More Than Words Mini Challenge)

I love challenges, and one of the most fun challenges out there is the Mini Challenge over at More Than Words!  It is about one word and lasts only one week, and here is my project this month!

The Mini word for January is ONE.

You can check out more DT inspiration on the More Than Words blog right HERE.
And to play along, don't forget that you have to include the word on a card, tag or ATC and share it on the More Than Words Facebook page by the end of the month!

Here are some close-ups:

I opted to use the word ONE on a baby-themed card.

I used upcycled some packaging material to use as a tag.

I hope you enjoy and you will play along!

Trouble x 2
(Stuck?! Sketches August 15th Challenge)

I took this picture last Winter while hanging out with my nieces.  It cracks me up as it shows exactly how silly they can be together... not withstanding the occasional (ok ok frequent!) sisterly bickering. I finally got around to scrapbooking it, while inspired by the latest Stuck?! Sketches challenge that follows.

This is the August 15th sketch!  Check out Stuck?! Sketches right HERE for all the details on this challenge and to see lots more DT inspiration!

Laura's sketches always look so fabulous.  I flipped this one vertically so my title cluster is in the bottom left corner.

I love the grid design on the sketch background so I wanted to use a grid pattern on my background too.  I contrasted the kraft base with busy flowers designers and a variety of bright colours.

They sure can be a load of double trouble, but they're also as lovable as can be!

Thank you for visiting today!

Leave me a comment - I always love to read your feedback!

Capture The Moment
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1)

Today is my reveal day on the Blue Fern Studios blog.

I've already shared with you 2 of my creations using the new Tranquility collection.
You can find out more about these layouts right HERE on the BFS page today!

Below is a new layout created with older BFS papers, a combination of Sanctuary and Autumn Anthology collections as well as the pretty blue packaging cardstock that comes with all your Blue Fern Studios products.

This layout is my 2nd layout this month inspired by the

Below you can see the Capture the Moment title covered with Breeze Imagine Ink embossing powder.  I find it looks so nice against the rich burgundy background paper.

A favorite chipboard piece of mine is this one called Deja Vu Atelier.  I love the combination of floral and steampunk with fancy paneling.  I covered it with Garnet embossing powder.

On the upper right corner of my layout is a little cluster of embellishments, including an Ironwork Accent and Leafy Page Accent.

You can see a glimpse here of my stamping work on the bottom layer of paper using the Serendipity stamp and Blue Sky embossing powder.

I am so grateful to Blue Fern Studios for all these amazing products!
