Plaisir d'été (Scraps of Elegance "Belle Journée" kit)

I told you I would be back today with more Scraps of Elegance inspiration, and here goes...

I am so happy with this layout... very simple, but yet with a touch of mixed media, using the Finnabair Glass Glitter from the Elements add-on.

I added drops of blue mist along with some stamping.

I really love this BoBunny background patterned paper... a very nice shade of green that goes along perfectly with ivory Prima roses, blue flowers (some from my own stash) and the lovely Blue Fern Studios frame embossed in shimmery brown.

Again, here is the adorable Celeste, daughter of some very good friends of mine!

Live Laugh Love (Scraps of Elegance "Belle Journee" kit)

Have you seen the new Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance May kits yet?

They're absolutely gorgeous, as always, and I am thrilled to be able to share with you my first project using the Scraps of Elegance kit, a super shabby chic BoBunny featured layout!

Oh, and speaking of BoBunny, did you hear?!

I made it to Round 2 of their 2016 Design Team Callout!  This girl couldn't be happier!

The SOE May kit is called "Belle Journee" and it features the very elegant Soiree collection from BoBunny, chipboard from Blue Fern Studios, flowers from Prima and lots more!

Now let's take a closer look at my layout!

I took apart and detached the layers of some of the Prima roses from the add-on to create more flowers.  I do this fairly often, as it allows me to make the most of my kit!  I added a pearl brad from my own stash in the center.

I covered the Blue Fern Studio chipboard key with Imagine Ink Snow embossing powder.

I used the sand molding paste with the stencil included in the Main kit and added some Frills for more texture.

The little girls are daughters of our friends - as pretty as can be!

Lucky Stars (Kraft + May Challenge)

I so love working with kraft colored products, including paper, so any chance I get to play along with the Kraft+ challenges, I am totally happy!  

This is my layout inspired by the May challenge!

This is the wild, fun and colorful image that inspired my creation!

Needless to say, the first thing that screamed out at me when looking at this image was the cool hip blue convertible.  I knew I had the perfect picture for it, of my nieces posing in this stage vintage car at Walt Disney World.  I fussy cut the car from the picture and made it pop out of my page.

I was also inspired by the bright colours which I thought looked awesome against the kraft background and some black and gold accents.  I wanted my layout to be a celebration of life!

I covered the chipboard stars with Imagine Ink 14karat embossing powder.

Look at these happy little super stars!

I have to admit, I chucked 2 first attempt at this layout in the garbage - I just couldn't get the background to my satisfaction.  They say "Third time's a charm", well, it certainly turned out to be true for me.  I love how my 3rd attempt turned out!

Time Tag (More Than Words Mini Challenge)

It's time for another Mini Challenge over at More Than Words...

And I created this tag just for it!

 The word this month is: TIME

I chose to use the word on my tag as part of this inspirational quote.

The base of my tag was treated with various mediums, like distress stains, embossing powders, mists and shimmery paints. I added a clock face badge to emphasize the whole time theme.

Memory Of A Beautiful Life (Stuck?! Sketches DT Reveal)

This time I've created a very shabby chic layout using the very elegant Soiree collection from BoBunny.

This page is choc full of BoBunny, from the papers to the noteworthy die-cuts, layered chipboard,  buttons, tag and title as well as doily.

Layer upon layer of pastel colors, pretty flowery designs and chic elements!

The picture dates back quite a few years.  It is of me and my best friend Denise from childhood.

We've had so many good times throughout the years, especially during our teenage years!

Although we don't see or talk to each other as much now, she will always hold a very special place in my heart and my memories.

Capture The Moment (Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1)

Today is my reveal day on the Blue Fern Studios blog.

I've already shared with you 2 of my creations using the new Tranquility collection.

Below is a new layout created with older BFS papers, a combination of Sanctuary and Autumn Anthology collections as well as the pretty blue packaging cardstock that comes with all your Blue Fern Studios products.

This layout is my 2nd layout this month inspired by the 

More Than Words MOMENT & CLOCKS challenge.

Below you can see the Capture the Moment title covered with Breeze Imagine Ink embossing powder.  I find it looks so nice against the rich burgundy background paper.

A favorite chipboard piece of mine is this one called Deja Vu Atelier.  I love the combination of floral and steampunk with fancy paneling.  I covered it with Garnet embossing powder.

On the upper right corner of my layout is a little cluster of embellishments, including an Ironwork Accent and Leafy Page Accent.

You can see a glimpse here of my stamping work on the bottom layer of paper using the Serendipity stamp and Blue Sky embossing powder.
