FOOTLOOSE & FANCY FREE
- tag -
(More Than Words DT - March Mini Challenge)

It's time for another Mini Challenge from More Than Words!

Here is my tag inspired by this month's Mini word!

Here is the March Mini Challenge board:
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

The mini word this month was quite challenging, but I found a sticker
in my stash and I thought to create with it this fanciful tag,
also inspired in part by the main challenge, FANTASY & WINGS.

The base for my tag is an Amy Tangerine product card I saved
a while back because I just loved the grid pattern on it.
Since it was orange, I thought it would look perfect with the 'fancy' sticker.

I dabbed on some white gesso to hide the company logo on the cardstock,
added some stenciling and then used purple and blue mist to create a sky-like effect.
I then dabbed on some more white paint to dilute the colours a bit.
I love the bold orange and black against the soft background.

Thank you for dropping by!

Hope you will play along with us at More Than Words!

ORIENTAL cards set
(Dusty Attic DT - March Mood Board)

I am happy to share with you today a set of 3 oriental-themed cards
that were inspired by The Dusty Attic March mood board.

Here is the beautiful March mood board!
And now let's take a closer look at each card.

Along with the mood board, my main inspiration for these cards
was the Bonsai Trees collection from The Dusty Attic.
I found some more chipboard in my stash with a similar oriental style
and decided to use papers from Graphic 45 to complete the effect.

The Fancy Frame #11 gave just seemed to be perfect.

On this second card, I used the Birdcage #2 covered embossed in golden yellow.

I added some Gingko Biloba pieces colored in red.

I thought that this card would be great for a special friend,
so I used this very fitting expression from the Quoted Sentiments in black.

On the card below, I used another of the Bonsai Trees
and the smaller Fancy Frame #11.

I decided to keep my cards fairly simple with no mixed media
because sometimes that is just how my creative mind thinks.

I think I was able to interpret the feel and colour palette of
the mood board simply but beautifully with these cards.

Here are the Dusty Attic chipboard that I used.

LOVE THESE PHOTOS layout
(Dusty Attic DT)

I'm so very happy to be sharing this layout with you today,
created as my first March DT reveal for The Dusty Attic!

The inspiration for this page were the lovely school photos of my nieces for 2017.
I chose the very fitting Love These Photos title and combined with some
Word Arrows to document these snapshots in time that I wish to remember forever.

I decorated my page with the gorgeous Floral Corners seen below
which I treated with a mixture of distress stains and Dusty in Colour paints.

I tucked a few Leaves #2 which I absolutely love and which I dabbed with Denim paint
as I did the Word Arrows and the Decorative Dots. I then sprayed on some gold mist.

I also used the Denim paint with the Gradient stencils, one of my favorite,
to add some design and texture on the background.

One of the best collections from Dusty Attic have got to be their Designer Discs.
Below you see the Mesh style painted with Denim and misted with pale blue.

You also see a close-up of my beautiful nieces of whom I am so proud!
They are growing up to become wonderful young ladies and I couldn't feel
more blessed to be their Tante Nicole.

Now let's have a look at the Dusty Attic chipboard and products used.

MAKE A WISH & BELIEVE Mixed Media Canvas
(More Than Words DT - March Main Challenge)

Are you ready to be transported into a magical world of FANTASY?!

Well, my take on the More Than Words March main challenge is all about that!

Here is the March challenge board from More Than Words.

Word Inspiration - FANTASY
Creative Challenge - WINGS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

I have loved each and every challenge from More Than Words since its debut
in 2016, but I have to say that this one has got to be my favorite so far.

The word FANTASY seems to be the synonym of inspiration... there is so many creative possibilities! I was also inspired by the board image to create this round fairy mixed media canvas. I just love these tiny whimsical creatures in which we all secretly love to believe.
It doesn't hurt that they have the most beautiful WINGS!

With a combination of Dusty Attic chipboard and other,
I was able to create a very fantastical scene with beautiful fairies,
lots of pretty flowers and sparkly fairy dust of stars and sequins.

I opted for 2 of my favorite crafty colours, teal and purple...
mixed in with some gold and silver accents.

I added some stenciling on the background of my canvas
and added layers upon layers of inks, paints and pastes until I reached
the desired colored effect and texture.

I used an assortment of flowers from various styles and sizes in my cluster.
And of course, I sprinkled lots of sequins mix on top.

I am so looking forward to seeing your take on this challenge!
