AMOUR UNE JOURNEE PARFAITE
- mixed media canvas -
(The Dusty Attic DT)

I recently went to the post-wedding celebration of 2 of my best friends, and I thought it would be special to create a canvas for them to remember this special day.

The canvas is 16 inches by 20 inches. I covered it with a coat of clear gesso,
and then used 2 different Dusty Attic stencils, Damask #2 and Large Dot, to add some texture and design to the base with modeling paste and several coats of inks, sprays and paints.

Since my friends are francophones, I used a saying from the French Wordplay, the Ensemble Amour set, as well as the word 'moments' from the Mini Tags #3 which has the same meaning in both languages.

Working with such a large surface, I thought it would be awesome to use several of the beautiful Fancy Frames. I added a few smaller frames from the Frame Medley.

I wanted to keep them all elegant and classy and part of the background, so I used white embossing powder and white acrylic paint on them.

In the above image you see two Ornate Pendants colored in black.

On the words I used paprika colored embossing powder to match the orange and royal blue colour palette, which you can guess were also the wedding colours. I decorated with some Baroque Flourishes and black Decorative Dots.

I went a bit crazy with the flowers!  I love how there is no limit when working with canvases... you can use some of the biggest and thickest flowers in your staff because there's no limit!

I always get very nervous when creating a project as a gift,
but I do love how this turned out, and my friends loved it as well.

Now, let's take a look at all the Dusty Attic chipboard and other products used.

LET'S GET SPOOKY
- single page layout -
(More Than Words DT - October Main Challenge)

Happy October everyone!!!

We have another fabulous main challenge reveal over
on the More Than Words blog (you will not want to miss this one!)
and here is my project based on this month's challenge.

Here is the October main challenge board from More Than Words.

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

Being the month of October I was inspired by the word to create a Halloween-themed layout. This was my niece's first Halloween back in 2005 when she was dressed up in the cutest witch COSTUME.

For this kid's page, I decided to use a fun BLACK BACKGROUND with polkadots and added lots of bright colours to contrast with the dark base.

All the fun Halloween chipboard is from The Dusty Attic.

I looked through my small Halloween-themed stash and found a few layered
stickers that I have had for years. They went perfectly with my page.

I kept the design fairly simple, decorating with buttons and sequins.

I hope that my 'spooky' layout didn't scare you too much,
and that you will come back to visit soon to see more of my creations!

Make sure to drop by at More Than Words to see all the DT projects
and the fabulous prize up for grabs this month!

BEST DAY EVER
- single page layout -
(Dusty Attic DT - September Mood Board)

Hello everyone!

I am thrilled to be back today to share with you
this brand new layout inspired by The Dusty Attic September mood board!

Here is this gorgeous mood board on which I based my layout:

I added a mixture of stains, sprays and inks to my background paper
to try and recreate the beautiful colour combo of the board.
I chose Best Day Ever from the Mini Captions #8 as my title
as I found it fit very well my display. I used different colour stains on it.

Below you see some of the Polaroid Frames, each treated with distress stains and splatters of white paint, that I layered on top of each other to create a geometrical pattern diagonally across the page.
I even used the negative pieces of that set to create even more layers.

You can also see the lovely Corner Flourish #6 that I cut in 2 pieces to tuck from each side of my flower cluster. You will surely agree that it's a stunning piece!

The Mini Tags, like the one below, are perfect to add some colour and sentiment at the right spot.

My flower cluster is composed of a mixture of paper blooms and clear acetate die-cuts. And sneaking from beneath all those flowers are pieces of the Wire Broken Bits #5 which I colored in silver.

These 2 cuties are my friends' daughters, and this grey toned photo seemed perfect for this project.

Now let's take a closer look at all The Dusty Attic chipboard that you can find on my page!

on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

Here are some details of my tag:

I started off with a regular cream colored tag and I sprayed some Lindy's and Ranger Oxide Spray to create a marble effect to match the die cut sticker with my sentiment on it.

I sprayed on some adhesive and then sprinkled some sparkle,
adding a few sequins to the mix.

I hope that you will play along with us at More Than Words!

YOU HAD ME AT MEOW
- single page layout -
(Dusty Attic DT)

As my DT reveal for The Dusty Attic, I have a very puurrr-etty layout to show you today, featuring my one and only kitty cat, Sugar, who's been such a precious member of our little family since we brought her home back in 2012. It was not planned at all, but we don't regret it one bit!

I was so thrilled when I saw many cat-themed designs in the July chipboard release.
Jennifer really outdid herself this time in catering to all of us cat and dog lovers.
For this layout I used the title You Had Me At Meow which is absolutely adorable.

I cut up a piece of the Large Heart Attack Panel and framed the right side of the picture with it.

I used Ranger Distress Oxide Spray on it, Distress Stain and then added a bit of embossing powder.
On the adorable cat Paw Prints, I put embossing powder and then acrylic paint.

I love the Polaroid Frames to add some layering to my page.

You can see below that I matched the large panel hearts with Heart Designer Discs.
And to finalize the cat theme, I added a piece from the Cat set, treated in white.

What a lovely photo of my furbaby, and I am happy to have been able to create this layout with loads of Dusty Attic chipboard to always cherish and remember.

Here is all the chipboard that I used on my layout!
