HAPPY GO LUCKY - Single Page Layout (Kraft+ International Guest Designer)

I am back today as the International Guest Designer
at a favorite challenge blog that inspires me every single month
but with which I don't always get to play along...
Kraft Plus Challenge Blog.

I absolutely love this challenge's trendy image! I was immediately attracted to the busy 

and colourful patterns of the pillows and the variety of designs on the wall decor. 

With that inspiration in mind, I wanted to create a happy

and eclectic page using a darling photo of my niece in an outfit and demeanour

just as fun and colourful as the challenge image.

I found the perfect papers in my stash from Momenta and several badges inspired

by the buttons in the board as well as flowers, confetti and brads to create this happy

mix, all of course on a base of beautiful kraft paper!

All the chipboard used is from Dusty Attic and I used Dusty in Colour acrylic paints

to add different colours to them as well as on my background.

This is one of my all time favorite photo of my niece... she was having

a grand ol' time at Walt Disney World a few years back!

What with Christmas approaching fast, the month of December

is mostly about counting down the days until we get to spend 

some quality festive time with the people we love the most... 

our family, as crazy as they may be!  Well, this layout is all about them...

Creative Challenge - NUMBERS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes

up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

 When I saw this month's word, it was very obvious which photos I would be

scrapping. These have been taken last year when we celebrated my mom's 65th

birthday. All those lovely smiling faces are my FAMILY!

I loved the NUMBERS creative challenge and had too many creative ideas

that I had didn't know where to start and what to pick. I finally decided to use

some patterned paper with numbers on it as part of my background

as well as some number grid and page pebble chippies (all from Dusty Attic!)

to represent the 'counting of my blessings'.

I love that I found this patterned paper in my stash... it matched the colour palette

that I had in mind. And those big bold numbers were just perfect for this challenge.

I did some stenciling on my background and dabbed on

some Dusty Attic acrylic paint on it.

Pretty much all the chipboard pieces except for the title

are from Dusty Attic.  I absolutely love the Number Grid piece

and the Wall Clock #2 just complements very well the whole creative challenge.

WHERE THE ROSES GROW - Birthday Cards Set (Pion Design Product Showcase)

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to be sent a whole box full

of gorgeous Pion Design patterned papers and I have been admiring

them since, thinking up creative ideas in my head but not quite wanting

to cut into all the beautiful designs! I know I'm not the only one like that!

Well, this weekend I decided to go ahead and cut into the stunning 

papers from the Where the Roses Grow collection 

to create a set of 3 very feminine birthday cards.  

On card #1, I used one of the lovely vintage image from the collection.

I found it was perfect for a birthday card meant for a special best friend.

I adorned each card with natural wooden shapes which I found

complement the soft colour palette of this line.

Card #2 features beautiful tags plus beautiful dusty rose blooms

that I cut out from the paper. The papers have so many elegant Victorian

images and elements perfect for fussy cutting.

 I decorated this card with more natural wood and lovely roses from my stash.

 

For card #3, I just knew that I had to explore the time clock theme

as my favorite paper from the collection is full of beautiful clock faces,

each one as pretty as the next. I had a hard time choosing ones to use.

I am absolutely in love with these beautiful antique colours and designs.

I also received some gorgeous Pion Design Christmas papers too,

so you all know which kind of cards I will be doing next!

WALK WITH ME - Tag (More Than Words DT - November Mini Challenge)

It's time for another Mini Challenge at More Than Words!

 I found a Dusty Attic chipboard piece with the word WALKING

on it and I modified it to get WALK and used it in quote.

My tag is a tag upon a tag upon a tag!

The base tag was covered in script stenciled modeling paste

and black paint as well as different shades of purple.

I misted the white tag and then painted the top kraft tag

in a lilac shade and then dabbed it with black and white.

I wanted to make my tag sparkle and shine so I sprayed it 

with adhesive and sprinkled lots of sequins.

This beautiful badge is from Cuts2luv.

HOCUS POCUS - Double Page Layout (Dusty Attic DT)

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you!
You ARE seeing double as I have created a double-page
Halloween-themed layout for you today for my Dusty Attic DT reveal!

Note that this page was inspired by a sketch that I found online a couple years past

designed by Scrapbook Generation. I only had a printed copy and couldn't find the same

sketch online to show you, but I have added the link to Scrapbook Generation HERE.

I know that October 31st is past now (tricks have been stored away until next year

and treats have most likely been enjoyed!), but I am so happy at how

this double spread turned out. I am no fan of Halloween projects,

but I have to say that seeing the many new spooky chippies released

on the Dusty Attic website a few weeks ago really inspired me to search out

some Halloween pictures and start creating!

This title It's Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus immediately caught my eye

as I had photos of a party decoration display which I helped

my friend Nath set up for her kids's school Halloween party.

I painted the title with the Dusty in Colour acrylic paint called Raisin.

Behind the title is another gorgeous October new release, a large Spider Web 

which was painted black and dabbed with the Raisin as well.

I've also used a few Web Corners which I covered 

in strings of cheesecloth and decorated with die cut spiders.

I love working with stencils and I have to say that the Dusty Attic

stencils are of such great quality, created out of sturdy plastic

which works so well with all types of mediums.  Here I just simply

colored in the pattern by dabbing the acrylic paint over the stencil.

I have had the Echo Park 'Chillingsworth Manor' paper collection in my stash 

for a while and am glad that I finally got a chance to use it up. 

It went perfectly well with the DA chippies and my pictures.
