MCS DT Reveal - Part 3

In part 3 of my DT reveal for My Creative Scrapbook (click HERE for Part 1 and HERE for Part 2), i have a single-page layout to share with you created with the September Main kit.

The picture is of our friends and their 2 little girls, Jade and Celeste.  You will be seeing a bit more of this wonderful family in future posts as i will be making layouts for them as a special request.

I mixed a little masking with molding paste and some misting to create the background.

Most of the flowers added on this page are handmade with materials from the Main kit.  Later on this month, I will be sharing a tutorial on how i created them both on here and on the MCS blog.

Be sure to drop by on the 16th for the September sketch reveal from My Creative Sketches during which i will post my final layout featuring the MCS Main kit.

First, let's take a look at a double-page layout featuring none other than my furry baby, Sugar!

What a beautiful assortment of products are included in this kit from the very complementary collections from We R Memory Keepers "Chalkboard" and My Mind's Eye "Chalk Studio"!

Wanting to recreate the chalkboard effect on my layout, i dabbed some white acrylic paint on the black background.

I'll be back soon to share another double-page layout using the Main kit.

My 2Crafty September DT Reveal (inspired by OUAS)

September is here so that means that Summer is almost over, isn't it?

Normally, i would be a tad bit depressed about this, but this is my DT reveal for 2Crafty so no time for sadness.  Playing with chipboard always makes this scrapbooker very very happy!

This month, on the 2Crafty blog, I share with you 3 layouts, 2 of them I have already shared with you on my blog (HERE and HERE).

My 3rd layout is a brand new one.

I was inspired by the September challenge over at Once Upon A ...Sketch which was to use the word "lucky" as a journaling prompt as well as this sketch by OUAS founder, Nadia Cannizzo.

Here is a little close up on the tag tucked under a rolled corner that includes my journaling.

My journaling reads:
"I always wanted kids and never imagined my life without them.  However, life had other plans.  Although I have now accepted the fact that I will most likely never be a Mom, I was blessed with 2 beautiful nieces to love and cherish just as much as I would my own children.  To be called 'Ma Tante Nicole' is definitely the next best thing to being called 'Mom'.  Thank you God for Ella and Daphne!"

I used the Alphabet Dainty to spell "lucky" and the You, Loopy Font title.

Wanting to add leaves to my flower clusters, I chose the Skeleton Leaves.

To add dimension to my background, I used the 1" Hexagons that I covered with a generous coat of molding paste and misted with different shades of glimmer mist (Mallard, Suede, Vintage Pink).  I then dabbed a bit of Smooch paint.  I then used my heatgun to quick dry each piece which resulted in the marble texture.  I used the same technique (this time only using the Mallard shade of Glimmer Mist) on the Adornment Set 2

... and the Corner Elegant Set.

 One last close-up

Until then, here are a few close-up shots of my creations:
