My Creative Scrapbook June DT Reveal - Part 2

Yesterday I shared layouts created with the June Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

Today it's time for bright and Summer-y cards!

Nothing means Summer than a nice tall glass of cold lemonade :)

I love the simple feel of this card and the vibrant colors.
And now, saving my favorite for last...

I'm really happy on how this card turned out.  I absolutely adored this watermelon design from the AC papers and stickers.  Doesn't it make you crave a nice juicy taste of Summer?

I hope you will visit My Creative Scrapbook to find out more about their kits!

My Creative Scrapbook June DT Reveal - Part 1

My Creative Scrapbook has once again come up with gorgeous kits this month that are sure to satisfy every style of scrapbooking!

Feast your eyes on these!

June Main Kit

June Creative Kit

June Limited Edition Kit

 June Album Kit

I got the pleasure of playing with the Main Kit full of fun and colorful American Crafts goodies.

Today I will share with you 3 layouts I made using this kit, and come back tomorrow to see 3 cards :)
I also made a tag which I will share later in the month along with a tutorial on how I created it.

My first layout is a double-page, very boyish in style, featuring photos of my friend Nat and her son Tristan.
Love the blues and the greens together with the hints of red here and there.

As much as my first layout is all about boy, my second couldn't be any more girly.
Very sunshiny indeed, just like my niece Ella in her yellow crocs!

I'm sure that you will agree that my last layout illustrates Summer at its finest.
Two little girls in pink dresses off to pick some strawberries in Memere's backyard :)

If you want more information on how you can get this kit or any other kit from My Creative Scrapbook, visit their blog.  There is also loads of inspiration provided by all the very talented MCS DT.

See you tomorrow!

My June DT Reveal for 2Crafty - Part 2

As the title of this layout says, "What you see is what you get", and I hope that what you see will inspire you to create something of your own with your stash of 2Crafty Chipboard.

Make sure you read until the end as I will be revealing the lucky winner of my 2Crafty blog hop prize.

Before I show you details, I have to mention that I played along with the June Scrappy Friends challenges to create this layout, 4 in total, so there was inspiration all around.
First, I based my design on this pretty sketch from Grand Diva's Creative Corner:

Second, Rochelle Spears offered this beautiful image as inspiration (I was inspired by the leafy vines, the corrugated texture and the colors):
Thirdly, Scrappin'n'Happy gives a creative recipe to follow:3 patterned paper (the background paper,
- pink grid design and blue grid design
- twine (the bow on the tag)
- washi (i added a strip of grey lace MME washi tape right underneath the lace ribbon)
And last, Kristi B challenges us to use a 'color resist' technique (I whitewashed my corrugated cardboard frame and many parts of my layouts with gesso, molding paste and white paint.
Let's now look at more details:

I am very happy about this layout. I wanted to create a page both soft and elegant and I think I managed to do that, using the gorgeous 2Crafty Viney Page Frame which I covered with gesso then heated part of it to make it bubble up.  I then dabbed it with green and brown inks.
I added some shimmery pink and white flowers, 2 of my favorite colors to scrapbook.  I cut some leaves off the frame to tuck behind the flowers.

The Fencing Wire Panel was also covered with gesso and distress inks.

I love the Damask pieces which come 3 in a pack.  I have used the larger piece on my Eiffel Tower layout shared yesterday and the 2 smaller pieces on this one.  I dabbed with gesso mixed with pink stain.

Hope you like this 'Me' page. :)

Now, the moment you've all been waiting for!  The winner of my 2Crafty blog hop RAK!

Removing my fellow DT members, I was left with 34 commenters.

I used Random.Org to draw a winner (Sugar the cat was being a tad bit difficult).

And the winner is...

Congratulations MichelleMc!

My June DT Reveal for 2Crafty - Part 1

It is my turn once again on the 2Crafty blog to share some projects that I created with their beautiful chipboard.  If you want to see all my projects, you can visit 2Crafty.  I will only be sharing 2 of my creations on here today and will share the 3rd tomorrow in Part 2 of this DT reveal.

When I started scrapbooking, all I did were double-page layouts. I do think they look awesome in an album and I love the way you can stretch the design from one page to the other as if it was one big panoramic canvas.

I created this layout for my friend Christine who visited Paris a few years ago.  Her pictures of the Eiffel Tower were so beautiful that I begged her to let me scrapbook them.  I didn't have to beg hard. hehe  I had the pictures of an entire year before I actually found the perfect paper and embellishments to finally scrapbook them.

I took the What A Wonderful Miracle You Are title and cut it only to use the 3 first words.  I will be using the leftovers on another project.  The piece behind the title is definitely one of my favorites, Esther Name Plate.  I put a coat of gesso, heated it up and then went crazy with the distress stains and glimmer mists.  Then, there is the Corner Arches which I treated the same as the name plate, only in blue tones and dabbing more gesso on top.

The Eiffel Tower chippie is another favorite of mine.  I knew it would be perfect for these pictures. I'm so happy I waited to scrapbook them.  This chipboard piece is so intricately designed. Just beautiful!

Here you can see the large Damask which I treated the same as the Corner Arches.  I also added pieces of a Corner Whispy Vine that I had left over from a previous project.

Some more Corner Whispy Vine.

And last, but not least, I used the lovely Parisian Border which was very fitting to the whole theme of the layout.

Next, I created a very special card for Yves with whom I've just celebrated 7 years of togetherness this past weekend.
I had to use the cute Love Bird Swing as the main focal attraction on my card.  I painted it with Liquid Pearls.

It might look like I only used 1 piece of 2Crafty chipboard on my card, but really there is 2.  The background was cut out of a 12x12 plain sheet of chipboard that came as packaging material.  I improvised different mixed media techniques over it, namely gesso, molding paste, stains, mists, more molding paste over a hexagon mask and then more stains, mists and inks.

So that's it for now! Come back tomorrow to see another layout using 2Crafty Chipboard.

I hope that you had the chance to participate in our blog hop during the weekend.  All the DT girls, including me, appreciate all the kind comments that you left on our blogs and wish you the best of luck with all the different prizes to be won!
I have compiled all participants' names and will announce the randomly picked winner of my RAK tomorrow!
