Scrap It With a Song "Go Your Own Way"

Sorry that this is a bit late in the making (the official announcement went live this past Wednesday!), but i am super excited to announce that for the next 6 months, i will be a Rock Chick for the Scrap It With A Song challenge blog DT!!!

Every Thursday of each month, Scrap It With A Song provides you with the best kind of inspiration... MUSIC!  The first song on the challenge playlist this month is "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac (definitely a favorite classic of mine) to start off a whole month of travel-themed songs.

When i first laid eyes on the Summer Haven kit, my first thought was WEDDING!   And since i don't have wedding pictures of my own (as we didn't do the deed yet! hehe), i decided to scrap this beautiful picture of my friend Nathalie and her husband Alain on their special day.

Now, how gorgeous are these colors?!?!

Summer Fresh Layout & Live Laugh Play Card

I have taken a little break from enjoying the Summer (it's going by way too fast for my liking!) to share with you 2 projects that i have just finished.  I promise you that i will start creating back on a more regular basis soon.  Starting next month, i am going to be part of a new DT which i am super excited about (stay tuned for the official announcement shortly) and i was asked to be a Guest Designer for a wonderful kit club for the month of August!  I was so honored by the request and cannot wait to share with you my projects for both these awesome blogs!

But for now, here is my most recent double-page layout called "Summer Fresh", as it was so obviously created using the fun and adorable Summer Fresh collection by Simple Stories.

The left side was inspired by the July sketch for Canadian Scrapbooker's It's a Sketchy Challenge.

The right side was based on Artful Delight's July Sketch:

I really found that these 2 sketches complemented one another very well and were perfect for scrapbooking these cute pictures of little Tristan!

Bal des Finissants (My Creative Sketches)

A few months ago, my cousin Cynthia gave me some old pictures of her high school prom ("Bal des Finissants" in French), dating back to 1993, to scrapbook.  I found the colors to be a bit of a challenge, but i finally got around to creating the first page of what will eventually be a double-page layout.

My inspiration for this page was the June sketch at My Creative Sketches:

After hours of searching through my paper stash, i finally opted for some leftover papers from BoBunny's Peacock Lane collection which, along with Dusty Attic's chipboard peacock feather, seemed to go quite well with the colors in the pictures and the 90's theme.

 I made the purple flowers myself with the Donna Salazar Carnation Creations' Spellbinders Die.

The tule trim is from Webster's Pages and the chandelier from Dusty Attic.  I covered all DA chipboard in this layout with black Distress Stain followed with black Stickles.

Now i'm ready to work on page 2 of this double-page layout.  My cousin will hopefully be proud of the finished result for her keepsake album.  :)
