WILD THING card
(More Than Words DT - April Mini Challenge)

It's Mini Challenge time over on the More Than Words blog,
and I created this card especially for it, using the April mini word!

Take a look at the April Mini Challenge board:
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

Of course, with a word like WILD and the remnants of 'animal print' inspiration from this month's Main Challenge, I immediately thought of bringing that same touch to my mini project.

I started off with a Dusty Attic Page Pebble with the word WILD on it.

I used different animal print papers on a kraft background to create my card.

I kept my card quite simple, adding some twine and a small chipboard heart.

I hope you like it!

PICTURE PERFECT Layout
(Daily ART Last DT Reveal
+ Scrap The Girls & Stick It Down Challenges)

Today is my 2nd feature April feature on the Daily ART blog and it's a very bittersweet post as it is my last one as a Daily ART designer. As they say, all good things must end, and this journey, however wonderful and inspiring it has been, must come to an end. I now want to give my spot on this fabulous team to another lucky artist. I wish to thank Daily ART for the opportunity and the chance to create with such a vast array of products and hopefully inspire you all to do the same.

And now, with no further ado, here is my last Daily ART DT project.

For my last project, I decided to go back to basics and create a layout about... myself.

Like many people, I am very critical of myself and do not really like getting my picture taken. I find fault in almost every photo and wish that I was good at Photoshop. haha But something that being a scrapbooker has taught me is that photos are important in keeping a special moment or a special person 'alive', and however fussy I can be about myself, I deserve a little keepsaking too!
I may not be perfect, but I am one of a kind and I can choose to be 'picture perfect'!

I am also playing along with the Stick It Down April Challenge with this beautiful sketch:

Let's take a closer look at my page:

On the background, I used the Fine Texture Paste with a stencil to create some textured design. I then added a bit of colour with a bit of Lemon Yellow and Peach Vintage Ink Sprays as well as Bronze Glimmer Ink Spray.

I used several products on my chipboard. The title was treated with a coat of Terracotta Vintage Paint and I added Deep Red Vintage Ink Spray and dabbed Apricot Acrylic Paint to create a marble effect.

The gorgeous Feather chipboards I used are from Dusty Attic. I started off by dabbing them with Terracotta Vintage Paint, then sprayed it with a combination of Bottle Green and Eucalyptus Vintage Ink Spray and Emerald and Pine Green Glossy Ink Spray. I added a bit of Peach Vintage Ink Spray and dabbed on some Emerald Patina.

After I had all my embellishments stuck on the page, I decided to create a white wash effect by misting it with White Vintage Ink Spray, on the paper background, the chipboard, the flowers, everywhere. And there I am, in all my 44 years of glory!

TREASURE THE LITTLE MOMENTS Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - April Mood Board)

I am sharing with you a brand new layout featuring gorgeous Dusty Attic designs and inspired
by their fabulous beautifully blue mood board!

Here is that gorgeous April mood board that will be sure to inspire you too:

Now let's take a look at some details...

I have to say that at first I was a bit scared of the colours in the mood board. As much as I love them together, I have to say that I do not often scrap in yellow although I did happen to use it several times on my projects of the last several weeks.

I found the perfect papers in my stash from the BoBunny Provence collection. I started off with adding design and texture on my background with the pretty Damask 2 stencil. I started off using the stencil with ink and then added another layer with modeling paste creating a cool layered effect.

The title Treasure the Little Moments seemed perfect for this picture of me and my fur baby.
On it, I made some ombre with different shades of blue embossing powders.

On the image below you can see one of the several new Fancy Frames available on the Dusty Attic website. I simply covered it with snow white embossing powder.

I wanted to capture the country feel of the board so I added doilies and fussy cut birdies, and of course lots and lots of blue and yellow flowers. The Page Pebble and the Quoted Sentiment I dabbed with dark blue ink, then dabbed it with a little white paint and added another lighter shade of blue ink.

Sugar the cat loves birds... well... she would love to eat them anyway... so I thought that I would add this beautiful Birdcage on my page. Dusty Attic has various birdcages in their collection, each one as beautiful as the other. This one, #6,  has to be my favorite.

This turned out to be a very shabby chic layout, perfect for me and my shabby chic kitty!

Here are the Dusty Attic products used:

Fancy Frames #4 - DA1981
Birdcage #6 - DA0714
Flourish #9 - DA1944
Treasure the Little Moments - DA1606

If you haven't done so already, make sure to join in on all the inspiration on the Dusty FANattics FB page! It's a fabulous place to be!

EXPLORE & DISCOVER Layout
(Dusty Attic DT)

Hello! Today I have a fun boy page to share with you.

On a background of 7 Dots Studio Cotton Candy patterned paper, I used black embossing paste with my favorite Dusty Attic stencil, Gradient, to create some linear effect. I then sprayed some green and orange mist to match the circles cut out from the paper. I wanted these colours to pop against the gray base and the black and white photos.

I painted the titles Explore and Discover with Capri Dusty in Colour paint, misted it with a darker shade of green and then dabbed a little Sunburnt Orange paint.

I cut in two the Geometric Corner piece and bits of the Diamond Panel and slipped them
behind both pairs of photos to extend the vertical layout.

I dabbed both Sunburnt Orange and Bisque paint on the Page Pebbles.

I really love the blueprint collection including this super cool Blueprint Rocket. The photos are of little Tristan sneaking into the dryer as if it was his own personal spaceship, so I thought this would be the rocket was the perfect addition to my page. I added a few of the travel theme Wordplay to go along with this whole theme.

I struggled a bit with this page at first, but I am so happy with how it turned out.

LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST Woodboard Canvas
(Daily ART DT + Words & Paintery March Challenge)

Today, I have another mixed media project to share with you
using the fabulous products at Daily ART.

I created this woodboard wall hanging canvas. I was so excited when I found
this cool woodboard at my local dollar store and thought that it would
be the perfect base for playing with my Daily ART stash!

This project was inspired by this wonderful colour challenge from Words & Paintery.

Let's take a closer look at the details:

I started off with covering the entire board with a coat of White Gesso,
and then I added some stenciling using Aquamarine Velvet Paste.
I sprayed some Lemon Yellow and Canaree Vintage Ink Spray
and blended it all in with some Snow White Glossy Ink Spray.

Most of the chipboard (except for the title) is from Dusty Attic. I absolutely love the Paisley #3 piece which, along with the feathers and fantasy flowers, I thought would be perfect for the whole bohemian theme on the Daily ART blog this month.

I used a combination of Aquamarine Velvet Paste and Calypso Blue and Mint Acrylic Paste on these pieces.

The feathers were treated with White and Apricot Acrylic Paints and a touch of Peach Vintage Ink Spray. I added a little shine to them using the Silver 3-D Glitter Pen.

I used Gel Medium Matte to stick all the chipboard and embellishments to the base.

It turned out to be a very soft and lovely piece. What do you think?

Here is the list of the all Daily ART products used on this project:

WILD AT HEART Layout
(More Than Words DT - April Main Challenge)

If you're familiar with my scrappy work, you must know that it varies
from shabby chic with lots of flowers and soft romantic tones
to bright and bold with more of a fun old school style. I always try to
incorporate a bit of mixed media into it although I still consider myself
a novice in that field and I don't think I will ever stop learning.

With this layout created for the More Than Words April Main Challenge,
I incorporated a little of everything, going from sweet to... wild. :)

Here is the April Main Challenge with which I have absolutely adored creating!
Word Inspiration - NATURE
Creative Challenge - ANIMAL (image or print)

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

Of course, the obvious thought that comes to mind when one thinks of NATURE is our wonderful outdoor world of fauna and flora, but I was inspired by the other definition of the word. A person's character is called his or her nature, and this layout is a tribute to my oldest niece's beauty... inside and out. She is a funny, happy go lucky, kind and carefree, and I hope that she forever will be.

I opted to go with the ANIMAL PRINT for the creative challenge, extending the zebra print in the photo to the patterned paper and a few gems on the page. I absolutely adore animal print!

Let's take a look at some details:

I thought that the black and white of the print and the deep red would
look dramatic and beautiful against a kraft background.

Most of the chipboard used are from Dusty Attic. They already come in black so were the perfect accents to my page. I popped up some layers of paper with 3D foam squares.

This girl is absolutely wonderful and this photo is definitely a favorite of mine!

Are you inspired?  Will you opt for an animal image on your project
of animal print as I did?  I can't wait to see!
