LIFE'S MOMENTS - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Country Chic' Kit
& Stuck?! Sketches August 15 Challenge)

Hello everyone!
I am sharing with you my 4th layout (and yes! I still have leftovers!!),
created with the Scraps of Elegance July 'Country Chic' kit.

Just like yesterday's layout, I was inspired once again by a Stuck?! Sketch:

My intention was to create only 3 layouts and some cards with this kit, but I had
so many leftovers and still so many gorgeous papers to use that I decided
to do a 4th layout to showcase this fabulous kit and play along with this challenge.

I layered many different pieces of papers behind my picture
and added lots of flowers on which I sprinkled some of the glitter
included in the Elements add-on kit.

I love that the Kaisercraft papers come with a quote on each paper lining.

Look at those gorgeous purplish blue butterflies!
What a beautiful colour palette I was able to put together for this layout
to go along with my outfit on the picture.  Love it!

Let's take a look at the 'Country Chic' kit and its add-ons again:

Do you love the look of this kit as much as I do?!

Well, if so, do not miss out on the chance of getting either the Scraps of Elegance

SO HAPPY - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Country Chic' Kit
& Stuck?! Sketches August 15 Challenge)

I have created 4 layouts total with the Scraps of Elegance
July 'Country Chic' kit, and here is layout #3.

I was inspired by this beautiful sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

I created the background of this layout by cutting 2 of the Kaisercraft papers diagonally
and merging them together. I added some stamped design using the Blue Fern Studios
set included in the Elements Add-On and some purple and aqua Lindy's sprays.

The title chippie is from my own stash and from the fabulous Dusty Attic.

I cut off the scalloped borders off some of the Papermania die-cuts
and used the teal colored circles as framing for my flower clusters.

49 and Market Layered Embellishments, fussy cut paper flowers,
embossed stamp daisies as well as lots of flowers and roses from
both the main kit and the Floral add-on make up these flower clusters.

I thought that a grey-scale photo would look great in the midst
of all these beautiful pastel colours.  I love this photo of Yves and I. :)

SING LOUD & PROUD - Card
(More Than Words DT - August Mini Challenge)

It's Mini Challenge time over at More Than Words!!

This month, I created a oriental-style card that I hope you will enjoy
using some vintage BoBunny collection.

Here is the August Mini word:
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

I will admit, this month's mini word SING proved to be quite the challenge for me
as I couldn't find one sticker, rub-on, stamp, or anything in my stash with this word,
so I had no choice but to improvise and create my own sentiment with chipboard
that would go along with the theme of my card.

I fussy cut this dragonfly from the BoBunny paper and popped it up.
I love how it looks with the lantern designs and cherry blossom type flowers.

I can 'sing loud and proud' about how this card turned out,
and I really hope that it has inspired you to play along with us!

Thank you for dropping by!

SI FANTASTIQUE - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Country Chic' Kit)

I am back as I promise with another creation
I made with the Scraps of Elegance July 'Country Chic' kit!

For this page, I opted for a beautiful purple/lilac background
with some aqua green peeking through some torn layers.
I absolutely adore how these 2 papers look together,
one 49 and Market 'Cottage Life' and the other Kaisercraft ' Lilac Whisper'.

I used a few pieces from the Papermania Die Cut Notes set,
as it matched very well with these papers.  I added a couple metal charms
from ScrapBerry's and of course, lots of flowers from the Main kit
and the Floral Add-On as well as some Layered Embellishments.

I sprayed some white mist on my background and flowers.

The picture is of the impressive Chateau Frontenac in Quebec city, Canada.

SISTERLY LOVE - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT)

It's my turn again on The Dusty Attic blog to share another DT project
featuring lots of Dusty Attic chippies, flowers, paints and more!

Since I didn't use the August mood board sketch as inspiration for my mixed media canvas shared with you earlier this month, I decided to use it for this layout.  As on the sketch, I went with 2 small prints for my pictures framed with diagonal flourishes and lots of flowers.

Definitely some of my favorite newly released pieces are the Lacey Trim and the Quoted Sentiments that now come in black.  These black chipboard pieces are awesome as you can use them as is - no need to color them - and they pop out of any project.

On the Lacey Trim above and the Layered Flourishes seen below, I used a combination of Oceania and Faded Denim acrylic paints with some dabs of white. I then added a bit of Clear Gloss Varnish to give them a little shine. The Leaves were covered with Crushed Olive.

In my flower clusters, you see Dusty In Bloom Blue Bonnet and Bridal Veil flowers
along with some other pieces from my own stash.  I love the blue colour palette!

On my background, I dabbed some Crushed Olive paint and then used
modeling paste with the Sparkle stencil to add texture and design.
After coloring the Monarch Butterflies with a black Copic marker, I dabbed them
with white paint and then added rust colored ink for a dual color effect.

These beautiful little girls are my friends' daughters!

Now let's take a closer look at all the Dusty Attic products used!

AHOY! - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Case File #236)

I solved another Case File from CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration
and it's a m-ARRRR-velous one!

To find out more about Case File No. 236
and see lots more DT inspiration, click HERE.

Let me explain how I solved this case!

Arrr-gust is International Pirate Month so the Scene offers an adorable pirate-inspired image so I decided to celebrate pirates too with my layout featuring my friend's son looking quite dashing in a pirate costume.

The Scheme consists of these colours from the Scene:
light teal green, black, white, light warm gray and crimson.

I opted to use many elements from the Evidence list:
stripes, polka dots, gold (sequins), flag (tags), wet medium (gold mist),
lots of nautical elements, wave shape (background patterned paper), twine,
skull/crossbone, buttons and ombre (also on the background patterned paper).

In my Testimony, which I've added on a tag hidden behind the photo,
I journalled about how all boys dream of being pirates... the thrill of adventure,
sailing on the beautiful vast sea and exploring for treasure!

And now let's look at some close-ups:

As soon as I saw this case file, I knew I had the perfect paper collection for it: Scrapberry's The Pirate Treasure.  This collection offers lots of gorgeous pirate themed designs and cutouts which matched perfectly my photo and went along well enough with the Scheme.  My light teal green turned more into a sky blue, but you can still see some teal in the wave design.

I found some pirate chipboard set in my stash and I added some gold sequins
to represent treasured gold coins that pirates constantly seek.

I cheated a little and added some extra colour to my page, but I found that
these gold elements from the Scrapberry's paper line were too good to not use.

Here is a sneak of my hidden journaling...

Ahoy, matey!  Little Tristan looks like a very happy pirate indeed!

Now, how will YOU solve Case File 236?

I hope I have inspired you to play along!
