Stay Gold (March SOS Sketch Challenge DT Reveal)

The Scrap Our Stash Sketch Challenge this month is a very 'shiny' one!

Create a layout inspired by the sketch below and you must

include "GOLD" embellishments.

Note: All of your embellishments do not have to be gold.

Alongside this beautiful sketch, I incorporated many gold elements to my page 

starting with the very pretty papers from My Mind's Eye.

As you can see, I had many embellishments in my stash to match the papers

 including the title 'Stay Gold' from Heidi Swapp. So very fitting! 

The cute little girl is my niece Daphne - 

she's in competitive cheer and she's a true champ at it! 

Gold all the way! :)

I AM Frame & Birthday Card (MCS DT Reveal 5)

Well, after having shared with you already 4 layouts created with the March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook, here is my last DT Reveal post for this month!

With the leftovers of the kit, I created this shadowbox frame 

(I will be sharing a tutorial for this project on the MCS blog later on this month)...

and a special card for my oldest niece Ella

whose birthday is this month!

this time based on the March sketch from My Creative Sketches!

 

I had a lot of fun creating with this unique sketch designed by Liz.

and the many elements in the March kit made it very easy to create 

this layout all about me.

Scrap Around the World March DT Reveal

The mid-month reveal for Scrap Around the World has just gone live,

so I am back today to share with you my project based on the March mood board.

Let's take another look at this fresh & mysterious board, 
designed by Terhi Koskinen from Finland!

Here is my canvas based on this minimalist modern mood board!

As you can see, I was very inspired by the colors, 

but mostly by the beautiful quote which inspired another quote!

I really wanted to create my own sunshine on this canvas 

and these are some of the products I used to do it!

I started with a 10 x 8 inches white canvas that I covered with a coat of white gesso.
I then added some stenciling (sunrays & grid pattern) with molding paste.

I added some blue in the corners, leaving the middle of the canvas blank
to then add a mixture of yellow paint, silk, mist and stain to create my sunshine.

Best Ever Smile (MCS DT Reveal 2 & Kraft+ March Challenge)

I wanted to play along with this new challenge blog last month (their debut month), but February just flew by and I was super busy with DT projects.

So I am thrilled to be able to participate in the
Kraft+ March challenge!

I love this month's challenge!

I used my March Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook to create this layout,

adding the softer patterned papers from Simple Stories I Am... collection

on to a background of kraft colored cardstock.

I added several gold glittery embellishments including the Heidi Swapp title
and star stickers as well as large gold sequins.

There is also shiny gold designs on the Simple Stories patterned paper. 

I used Simple Stories DIY burlap stickers to add on the kraft theme.

Happy Memory (My Creative Scrapbook March DT Reveal 1)

Well, it's finally HERE!

My DT Reveal for My Creative Scrapbook!

As I mentioned on the 5th when my DT Reveal should have started,

my kit was a little late this month due to the negligence of the Canadian postal system.

I was a bit annoyed, but hey... better late than never!

And let me tell you, the March Main kit was well worth the wait!!!

It features, among other awesome products, the fabulous "I Am..." collection from Simple Stories.

using the fabulous March mood board designed by Terhi Koskinen from Finland.

As you know, being on the SATW DT as one of their canvas specialists,

I have already created a canvas inspired by this mood board

which will be revealed to you all on March 16th.

I loved the mood board so much that I had a blast also creating a layout as part of my GDT.

I was inspired by many of the elements of the mood board, like the boyish masculine feel,

the colors (black, white, grey, aqua blue, yellow), the legoman/robot and hemp twine.

I have used 7Dots Studio background paper.

Below you see the "Cool Dude" title from 2Crafty

which i dried embossed using my Cuttlebug

and then colored with all the colors listed above.

I have used many of the "Giant Gears"...

and the "Cog Border" mixed up with a few "Chevron Bits".

I have these "Robots" from 2Crafty for a while now (they were part of one of my first DT packs I received) and I was so happy to finally be able to use them!  How cute are they!?

The adorable little boy is Tristan, my friend Nath's son.
