PRECIOUS - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - October Mood Board)

Hello!  Are you up for some Dusty Attic chipboard lovin'? ;)

This layout was inspired by this gorgeous October mood board that is sure to inspire you!
Click HERE to visit the Dusty Attic blog to find out more about the challenge
and to see lots and lots of DT inspiration!

I love the  neutral colors of the images and so I decided to go neutral
too with my page, adding a bit of gold and copper for an added antique feel.

The title 'Previous' seemed to go well with my theme.
I painted it black, then dabbed it with a little bit of white,
and then covered some of the white with metallic copper paint.

On my background, I added some texture with modeling paste and the Sparkle stencil.

I used a piece from the Name Plates #5 Set, painting it
with a mixture of Dusty in Colour Gingernut and Vintage Gold,
then finishing with a coat of Clear Crackle Varnish.

You have surely seen all the new black chipboard that Dusty Attic now offers.
This piece below is part of one of my favorite sets called Word Tags #2.
Underneath it is an Ornate Corner #2 that I cut in 2 to use here and under my title.

I really wanted a beautiful Victorian-style photo to use on this page,
and I had none of my own (my ancesters weren't much into photography - hehe)
so I found this classic image of a beautiful young lady on the Internet.
Peaking from behind the photos are 3 mini ATC Frames #3.

I hope you like my take on this fabulous challenge and here's to hoping
that you will play along!  You could win a huge Dusty Attic stash of your own!

CARPE DIEM - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Major Case File 239)

CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration detective Nicole was at work
once again, and this is how I solved my newest case file!

For more information on Case File #239 and all the wonderful prizes up for grabs,
click HERE.  You will also see how my fellow DT members solved it,
and let me tell you, they are a bunch of pretty fabulous detectives!

Let me explain how I solved this case!

The Scene in this case celebrates International Music Day!
I was mostly inspired by the Summer-y feel of the image and so
decided to scrap a photo of a very fun pool party with co-workers,
most of whom who are also, of course, my good friends!

In the Scheme, you find some ballerina pink, minty green,
pale warm gray/off white, dark navy blue and sky/powder blue.

From the Evidence list, I chose:
floral print, flowers (of course), flamingo, wood and circles.

For the Testimony, well, I went for the obvious topic of Summer
and hand-wrote my journaling about a superb Summer evening with friends.

And as always, the Major Case comes with a fabulous sketch!

Now let's take a look at some details:

The papers used are from Simple Stories.  It had most of the colours of the Scheme
and had that darling flamingo piece of evidence!

I'm very self-conscious whenever I hand-write on my pages,
but I have to say that it gives a personal touch that scrapbooking
is supposed to be all about.

I used a square stencil with blue paint and then a circle stencil with pink paint.
After my layout was all made, I found that it was missing something... so I drew
a swirly design around the photo and embellishments and then stitched it.

And there you go.... the 'good life' with a great people!

Come play detective with us at CSI! Check it out HERE!

YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL - Single Page Layout
(More Than Words DT - October Main Challenge)

More Than Words has revealed a brand new Main Challenge
and I am sure that all your shabby chic scrappers out there are going
to swoon and drool over this one!  But of course, any style scrapper
will be able to make it their own!  Take a look at what I created...

Here is the October Main Challenge:
Word Inspiration - DELICATE
Creative Challenge - FABRICS

You can find all you need to know about this challenge and the fabulous prizes
up for grabs as well as inspiration from the very talented MTW DT right HERE.

The word DELICATE brought to mind the sweet and beautiful spirit of a child. My niece Ella is such a special girl who is growing up into a one of a kind young lady - kind-hearted, funny, intelligent, brave and imaginative. I hope that her spirit never fades!

I incorporated the FABRICS challenge by adding strips of beautiful lacy ribbon and a crochet doily.

Let's take a look at the details:

All the primary chipboard pieces used on my page are from none other
than one of the most popular sponsors at More Than Words
and a manufacturer for which I am so thrilled and blessed to design for.
Yes, you guess it.. Dusty Attic! Visit their website to find all these chippies!

I was so happy to have a large and small DA dress form to add to this page.
I found that they were perfect for the word inspiration as well as the creative challenge.

Not only did I add this gorgeous crochet lace and a doily to my page,
but I also chose a background paper from Blue Fern Studios
on which there is an intricate lace pattern over a soft shade of blue.

How beautiful and precious is this little girl, right?

So are you going to play along?

I really hope so I inspired you to do so!

BRAVE THE STORM - Tag
(More Than Words DT - September Mini Challenge)

This is my Mini Challenge reveal project for More Than Words this month!

Here is the September mini word:
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

In the wake of all the natural catastrophes happening lately in my part of
the globe (I am so very blessed to have been spared!), I thought to use the word
BRAVE in this inspirational quote... to keep courage and strength despite the storms.

I started off with a kraft coloured tag and after much misting,
stenciling and stamping, it turned out into a very warm leathery brown.

The beautiful elegant frame as well as the small feather are from the Dusty Attic.

As a final touch, I sprayed some adhesive glue and sprinkled some beads.

I hope you like and that you will be back to visit to see more!

POUR TOUJOURS - Wedding Card
(Cuts2luv September Challenge)

I got a special order from a friend last week to create a French wedding card.
I thought it would be a great opportunity to play along to a challenge at the same time.

For this card, I was inspired by this gorgeous mood board from Cuts2luv.

I decided to use the colour palette and to add a doily on my card.
I was also inspired by the word Bliss (for the wedding theme),
although I didn't use the actual word on my card.

And of course I added a beautiful flair from this Cuts2luv set right HERE.

One of my favorite colour combination is by far kraft, white and teal/aqua.

This beautiful chipboard heart is from The Dusty Attic.

Thank you so much for dropping by!
