My Creative Scrapbook DT Reveal - Part 2 & Announcement

I am back to show you more of my work using the September Main kit
from My Creative Scrapbook.

But first of all, I have a big announcement to make!

I can finally share with you that I am now part of
the White... with 1 Creative Team.

I have loved this challenge blog for so long and
am excited to now be designing for them.
My first DT reveal will be on October 1st!
Visit WW1 now to see all the other talented ladies with whom I'll be creating!

Now back to MCS!

This kit has so many beautiful patterns and colours, found in the My Mind's Eye Jubilee collection.
My favorite part of this page is the silhouette I Love You title box from the 'Beautiful' Mixed Bag,
filled to the brim with die-cuts.

The many bits and pieces included in the kit allowed me
to add layers upon layers of embellishments.

I decided to add a little touch of black by adding fun swirls of handmade stitches.

The picture is of my nieces having fun during their trip at Walt Disney World last Spring.

With my next layout, I decided to fussy cut some of the doilies from the MME paper.

I also fussy cut part of the title.

Again, the picture is of Ella and Daphne living it up in Florida, earlier this year.
This is my favorite picture of their entire trip!

Come back tomorrow!
I'll be sharing a few Main kit extras in the final part of my DT reveal.

My Creative Scrapbook DT Reveal - Part 1

Month after month, I just can't wait until the 5th to be able
to share with you my creations using My Creative Scrapbook kits.

This month's kits are all very pretty in their own way.

Main kit

Creative kit

Album kit

 Limited Edition kit
I was given the Main kit to play with and promote.
American Crafts Thickers and more.

My first share is this double-page layout of Yves and I enjoying a beautiful Spring day back in 2010.

I had fun cutting 1" squares to create a mosaic on my background, matching the MME papers.

Next, here is another older picture of me, this time, dating back to 2005!

I love all the combination of black and gold in this kit.

I added tiny green chipboard hearts to make this doily banner even cuter.

Visit My Creative Scrapbook to learn more about their kits and how to subscribe
AND to see lots more inspiration from the Design Team.

I'll be back tomorrow to reveal more of my creations using the Main kit.

Amazing Day (2Crafty DT Reveal - Part 2)

I adore creating with 2Crafty chipboard - I must say that aside from flowers,
they are my favorite items to use on a scrapbooking project.

This month, as part of my 2Crafty DT reveal, I wanted to pay tribute to Summer!

Click HERE to view my full reveal on the 2Crafty blog.

I had a bit of a hard time creating this layout.  My first attempt at a background is all crumpled up in the waste basket. ha!  I'm much more pleased with this one.

The first 2Crafty piece to showcase is this very nice "Lighthouse".
I wanted to give it an old woodgrain effect using texture paste and different other mediums,
but I didn't exactly succeeded.  I still like the finished result though.

The "Such an Amazing Day title" was covered with white gesso, then dabbed with a little pink and blue distress stains, then finished off with some metallic champagne paint.

Also seen on the image below is the ship's wheel from the "Pirate Treasure" set.

I used a circle Studio Calico stencil and gems to create the effect of light rays in the background.

Tucked amidst my flower clusters are different treasures of the sea
included in the "Seashells" set: seashells, seahorse and star fish.

The sea anchor is also from the "Pirate Treasure" set.
I treated it the same as the ship's wheel, covering it with white gesso, heated to a boil
and then topped with different shades of brown distress stains.

Now on to these "Surfy Waves"!

They gave me a hard time, mostly because I am so fussy when creating.
I wouldn't stop until they turned out perfect (in my eyes anyway)
so I used layers over layers of different mediums to try to give them
the color and foamy look of real sea water.

I started off with white gesso, then added crackle paint.
Then, I dabbed on some distress stains (all shades of blue I could find in my stash).
Next, I put on a generous coat of Liquitex Glass Beads gel followed by more gesso.
I added some regular gel then more white gesso, dabbed again with distress stains,
metallic champagne paint, and more white gesso.

These chippie waves have got so much product on them
that I think my finished layout now weighs at least10lbs!

And, saving the best for last, a beautiful picture of Yves and I
enjoying a great day of Summer vacation in Percé, Quebec.

If you'd like to try and recreate my techniques and do your own sea-themed layout,

Tons of Fun (2Crafty DT Reveal - Part 1)

The end of August already and I only have one question...

WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE?!

Here in Canada, the bittersweet last days of Summer are here and we are hanging on for dear life.

I decided to pay tribute to the beautiful sunny season in my August 2Crafty DT reveal.

My first layout is full of bright Summer blooms and 2 pretty little girls
(our friends' daughters, Celeste and Jade) having "tons of fun in the SUN" at our local beach!

I used the "Word Circles Set 2" and "Scrabble Tiles" to make up the title.

I decided to pull out most of my leftover 2Crafty chipboard flowers
from past projects and use them up on my page.
You can see "Flowers Frames" and "Daisy Flowers"
which I covered with pink paint and mist.

I cut off each leaf off the "Summer Leaf Stems".

The silhouette of the black butterflies on the left edge of my layout were done using
the negative space of the "Graceful Butterfly" set.  I used the chipboard as a stencil.

Below, you can see the actual "Graceful Butterfly" as mentioned above.

Because the picture is so fun, I found that the "Word Bubbles" would be a perfect addition.
I added one "Geotag" and tied it with a string of pink twine.

Note: In case you're wondering how Jade is suspended in the air, upside down,
her dad was standing outside the frame holding on to her feet.  :)

If you want to see my full 2Crafty DT reveal today, visit the 2Crafty blog.

I'll be back here tomorrow sharing another layout with details.
